Rigters May Consider Loan Move

Maceo Rigters has warned Blackburn Rovers he wants a loan move if he cannot nail down a first-team place at Ewood Park.

The 23-year-old told Dutch newspaper BN/De Stem that he was finding life on the sidelines difficult.

'Of course that's frustrating,' said Rigters.

'But there are some very good players before me and when the club wins four games in a row, you know that you still have to wait for a chance.'

Rigters hopes to get his chance in the coming weeks and was encouraged by a recent chat with Blackburn boss Mark Hughes.

He said: 'Hughes told me that I have simply been unlucky and that the other strikers are doing so well. So who knows? I might be playing games in a couple of weeks.'

However, Rigters would like to move on if he does not get a starting berth soon.

He said: 'If that's not the case, I want to see the club loan me out as soon as possible. But I'm not thinking about that yet.'

Rigters joined Blackburn in the summer from NAC Breda.

MIKEY'S THOUGHTS

I for one am suprised he has not been given more of a chance but you have to admire his honesty.

I am sure with Roque out he will see more action... He needs to take his chance given.

No doubting he is a good player but he is young and will benefit from having Roque and Benni to learn from.. a loan move if it came to that would not be the end of the world that is sure.

You can understand his frustration but I must admit I'm a little disappointed to hear this.
He IS a quality International quality striker but people like Gally and Derbs HAD (and still are in some cases!) waited a lot longer than Rigters for chance, but have they asked for loan moves at all? They might have got them, but didn't ask!!!
He could learn a lot by staying, but a loan move wouldn't be that bad I guess, I just worry that this could be the start of a possible move away should he return and still not get into the team right away?!?!

yeah im a bit surprised he is already makin these noises a bit premature i would think! but if a loan away was to be the end of his stay at rovers we would get a lot more money than we paid for him!
durks de rover
I dont think he is finished just yet guys!!!! lets give him a chance....

HDM- the thing is that Rigters is almost 24...However with Gally out on loan, Cruz&Roberts injured perhaps he will get a chance.

I'm surprised to hear such utterings but i guess he is used to playing regularly. I just hope he takes his chance when given it, he would look a little silly if he didn't. He would be ideal in that role behind the frontman we seem to have adopted.

I still say play him in the 4-2-3-1 option up top..... make it happen Sparky, lets see what this kid can do.

maybe if we get a cup game agianst some div 3 team, otherwise i cant c that happening lol
sasman
div 3 sas?!?!?! its League 2 now!!! lol

There are two sides here aint there - staying has him train with better coaches and better players, judging by wot Santa Cruz, McCarthy, Bentley etc do on the pitch u can only imgine wot they get up to in practice!?!? However going out on loan will let him play football and score goals which will build up his confidence, but this only works for me when and if he comes back to Rovers and starts in the team, if not then the confidence built up will just go again
Clint
Very true dude, my only worry is that if he goes out on loan, when he returns he will have a real taste for playing again, so if he doesn't he might want to leave?!?!
