Hughes Calling For Maximum Support

Blackburn Rovers manager Mark Hughes has sent out a plea to Rovers fans to turn out in force and give it all they have got to help Rovers overturn their UEFA Cup deficit.

After Rovers' 2-0 defeat to Larissa (manage by former Rovers winger Giorgos Donis) in Greece it is a tough task for Rovers to turn round things in the second leg but Hughes still believes that we can do it.

Hughes told the Lancashire Telegraph: "People will say that Larissa are favourites, and that may be true, but it's still only half-time and if we all get stuck in together, I believe we can do it."

Sparky has even more belief that we can do it with the full backing of a vocal Ewood Park crowd, as this can help raise players games to an even greater level than that they might usually play to.

He added: "Local support is going to be absolutely critical. We need the place to be buzzing.

"I know the sort of atmosphere that Ewood can generate but we need it to be at the max tomorrow.

"As a player, I can cite many examples of when the home crowd has made a vital difference on big European nights, and this is one such occasion.

"We always get great backing from our fans but this time, if they can make it even more special, that would be brilliant
."

The ONLY way you will get to see the match is if you get down to Ewood, as it WON'T be broadcast on British Television. However, in order to get as many to the ground as possible ONCE AGAIN prices have been dramatically cut with adult season ticket holders, senior citizens, young adult season ticket holders and Club 16-21 members having to pay JUST £5, with juniors paying a mere £1!!! Even an adult non-season ticket holder will only have to pay £10, and tickets CAN be purchased up until kick off.

On these prices Sparky also said: "The club has done its bit with the drastically reduced admission prices and wouldn't it be great if we could generate a full house for what is a massive game for us."

The atmosphere at Ewood Park can be electric can't it, if a similar atmosphere to that which was generated against Bayer Leverkusen last season can be replicated Rovers WILL be able to turn it round this time I have complete faith in this thought.

i was at the leverkusen game and it was a great atmosphere im confident that we will go through but it will be very tough they wont want to surrender a two goal cushion very easily!

And as we are not on TV, there is no reason (unless financies don't allow it) to come!
Decimus Poole
Exactly, although some people (like myself) have to work or live to far away don't they (again like myself) but those locally without work commitments etc. have NO excuses, the tickets are virtually given away at that price aren't they.
WHAT an atmosphere we will get!!! (I hope!)

I've got a coach of 12 going down... dont make excuses guys... make it happen. No-one has got the TV excuse.

HDM...see where you are coming from chief but I will be getting you to a game this season.. you have no chance of getting out of it!!!

Whereabouts will be sitting MG? We're are trying out a different pub beforehand (breaking a established routine. One of the reasons we got beat by Portsmouth, we tried a different pub! Sorry, fellas...I had two pies to try and make up for it...) so if anyone can recommend a nice pub, within (short) walking distance. We used to frequent the Brown Cow, but he no longer has sky, so we can;t watch the lunch time game before hand...
Decimus Poole
Haha! Love the superstition Decimus! I would LOVE to make this game, but am away. Next home game I'll make will be Jan 1st! Really hope there's a good turn out for this though, makes such a difference!

Am sat across row 24 of the Blackburn end on the right hand side (if you are facing the pitch)... where you sat Decimus?? And I am actually going to the brown cow believe it or not if anyone wants to meet??? get yourself down there lads...
MikeyGamst
I'm sat on the back row, half way between the goal and the Riverside (as was). I can see no reason for us not to frequent the Brown Cow, as the football that will be on will be on terrestrial, and therefore should be on. I will find out later (when I say later, I mean 7.00pm, when I arrive in Blackburn!) as to where we are watering...
Decimus Poole
good call... if you need to locate I have a mate with bright yelow hair, you cant miss it, it is brighter than the sun!!! lol

good move denying live tv coverage - should tempt a few more into Ewood Park!
