Emerton Out To Make Amends

Blackburn Rovers defender Brett Emerton may have been at fault for Larissa's second goal in Rovers' 2-0 UEFA Cup first round first leg defeat but he is keen to make up for this.

The Australian's error (which is fairness is a rare error from him) virtually gifted the Greek side their second, and maybe decisive goal in the first leg admits the mistake but is not letting it get him down to much, but he is keen to make amends in the second leg at Ewood Park this Thursday Evening and help claw Rover back into the tie and earn a place in the group stages, which are crucially important to Rovers.

He told the Official Blackburn Rovers Website: "I try not to let it get to me, obviously it is disappointing as a player when you make mistakes, you go to bed at night and you think about them.

"But all you think about is the next game and hopefully going out there, playing well and making up for those mistakes you have made. That is what I have been trying to do in the last couple of games and all I can do is to continue to do my best
."

After the defeat in Greece Rovers then suffered a Premiership defeat to Portsmouth in the next match, but have since responded with back-to-back victories in the Carling Cup (verses Birmingham City) and back in the Premiership at the weekend (verses Sunderland) to go into the second leg with confidence high for the match that kicks off at 20:00.

HOWEVER, Something that is very disappointing is the fact that the match HASN'T been picked up by any British Television networks, so unless you are actually going to Ewood Park you will not be able to view the match. Personally I think it appalling that Rovers who quite possibly at this point in time are the best British side in the draw are not being broadcast, especially with the deficit to claw back which SHOULD make for a cracking match.

I'm sure that Emerton WILL more than play his part in getting Rovers back into, and then through in this match, Rovers WILL win through.
I can't believe that the match isn't being shown!!! I don't know what matches are being shown at the moment but if Spurs are on instead of Rovers that is a disgrace as they are already something like 6-1 up aren't they?!?!

Will we not be on Setanta again?

i just had a look spurs are on five and everton are on setanta i dont think you lot are being shown on tv
muffdaddy1983
We are not. Setanta are showing Oxford v Torquay. ITV, BBC and Sky aren't showing anything. Five, as pointed out, are showing Spurs at 4.30pm, and Everton at 7.30pm. Maybe this is anoher ploy by the board to get more into Ewood!?

Maybe, still at least Spuds are entertaining at the moment with calamity Robbo between the sticks!

I can understand Everton being on as they are behind as well but SURELY Rovers should have been on as well?!?!

I for one think it's GREAT that it's not on TV in the UK, as that will maximise the presence at EWOOD!! COME ON ROVERS!!! Hope it's on TV in Canada though, hehe!

on the topic of his mistake against larissa his part in our goal on saturday was similar to his mistake as the full back gives a bad back pass givin the ball away there is a bit of a scramble and then a goal just thought id share that with ya cos i thought that when i saw the goal!

It is great, but for people that have to work (a la me :( for one) that would only be able to record and then watch later it's not so good. It SHOULD ensure a superb turnout though.
