Hughes Singing Santa's Praises

Not for the first time Blackburn Rovers manager has sung Roque Santa Cruz's praises, after the striker played a pivotal role in Rovers' victory over Sunderland at the Stadium of Light.

The Paraguayan International has now scored five goal in nine matches since his bargain transfer from Bayern Munich in the summer, with his fifth coming with what proved to be the winner in our 2-1 win over Roy Keane's Sunderland on Saturday, having also created the opening goal for David Bentley.

Hughes told the Official Blackburn Rovers Website: "He's a good player, he's got exceptional talent and he's quick. I think he takes people unawares on occasions as they don't realise how quick for a big guy he actually is.

"He works exceptionally hard for the team as well, he's really appreciated and respected by his team-mates for what his does to the team.

"He's a great player and a good guy as well and he scores goals
."

Sparky hasn't been backwards in coming forwards with praise for Santa Cruz, and personally I can't blame him as I think he has been superb since he arrived, for a REAL bargain price (again!) as well!!!

We have covered this subject (how good Santa Cruz is!) several times, but you just can't get away from it he has been another great Sparky signing, and at such a bargain prize!
There can't be many doubters now, surely?!?!

I think that roque can develop to be a greater influence then benni. I dunno, benni at times dissapears from the play, if only he gets more involved. Maybe he is down on confidence lately. Roque appears so hungry, he deserves the role of our main striker
sasman
benni will benefit most from roque being here.... his link up play is essential for Benni as is Jason's as well...

Men..I'm so proud of my good friend Mister Roque Luis Santa Cruz Cantero..we al paraguayans are. I hope he can show more of his quality. Just for you to know, he gave us (OLIMPIA) 2 championships scoring goals of every kind!
diegoveron
Paraguayans have EVERY right to be proud, he's a world-class performer.

been very very impressed with him, long may it continue!

Diego u guys got any more like roque who wanna come to england lol, maybe a central midfielder, cover defender and young goalkeeper lol
sasman
I don't think we need the goalkeeper dude as we have several on the books here, and they are young and talented.

When u look at te difference between Roque and Pizzaro!! Roque granted cost money from Bayern but looks about 100 times better than his free pal from the same team! Shows that Hughes had a better eye for talent then the 'Special One '

I was reading an article on Frank Fielding and it has been said that he is being linked as the next big English goalie, never seen him play but Friedel is quoted in 'being impressed ' must be an ok recommendation u would think
Clint
I saw something on the Wycombe Wanderers Website praise Fielding, who made his League debut with a clean sheet didn't he, good on the guy. I have high hopes for him, hopefully he CAN fulfil his potential.

Yeah I heard about this latest talk on Frank; could be interesting for us. On to Roque and he continues to impress me. He could do with tighteing up his finishing as he has missed some simple chances. Some of you may think i am being a tad unfair on the lad but he has such ability, if he can become a more regular scorer, we will have one of Europe's best on our books!

I know what you mean dude, for as player of his talent and background he could and should do better at times, it is just a sign on how highly he is rated, so I know exactly what you mean.
Hughes Da Man
it sbecomin a cliche when we talk about sparky and his prowess in the transfer market but he has been another bargain!
durks de rover
I know what you mean dude, but it's sooo true!
