Gallagher Wants To Stay A Rover

Blackburn Rovers midfielder/striker Paul Gallagher has stressed that he sees his long-term future with Rovers, so he will be looking to return to Ewood Park at the end of his loan.

Gallagher is currently on loan with Championship side Preston North End until January, a move that Rovers manager Mark Hughes is hoping will benefit both the club and player in the long term. It would easy for Gallagher to give up and move on, but this is NOT what he wants.

Asked what his plans were for the future (this season in fact!), he told the Mirror: "To score as many goals as I can for Preston and get back into both the Blackburn and Scotland team."

Personally I still think that it will be hard for Gallagher to have a long-term future with Rovers. That is not to say I don't want that as I think he is hugely underrated and underused.

If this loan spell can't improve his situation when he returns then that will be the end for him at Rovers.
I HOPE he gets more of a chance (which he deserves) when he returns, but it is hard to see how he will fit in?!?!

I will back this boy... he is good at right wing and good up front, he just needs to be playing with players that compliment him... he provides good cover. But it does make sense to send him out on loan.

If gally does develop, he can at least put pressure on bentley, even relieveing him in cup games or dead uefa cup rubbers

That's a good point sasman. Some suggest that Rovers will be in trouble should injuries hit Gamst and Bents but I see Gally, if he improves a little more providing ample cover for Bents. He is not as good but the lad is technically brilliant. I hope he plays a lot for Preston and does well so that it may eventually make Hughes give him a chance or two.

I think he's got great technique. Unfortunately we have plenty of options ahead of him. He won't play ahead of Bentley on the wing for sure.....I remember a British pundit once said that Darren Huckerby is "too good for the championship but too bad for the EPL"- perhaps the same for Gally?!?!?
IsraeliRover
Maybe so IsraeliRover.
I really feel for Gally as I feel that he really does have the potential to be great. Keeping him at Rovers would be great, but he will only hang around for so long.
Hughes Da Man
I think Gally does have it in him but when he has been given a chance so far he hasnt set the world alight despite some moments of true class. Peter and gally are good back up on both wings... as is Rigters as well on the right.
