Santa Cruz Player of the Month (Aug)

Santa Cruz Player of the Month (Aug)

Vital Blackburn's most recent Poll asked you "Player of the Month for August?" You voted in favour of Roque Santa Cruz.

The impact that Roque Santa Cruz has made at Ewood Park since his, what is looking like a bargain £3.5 million move from Bayern Munich has been superb. He's claimed most of the Man of the Match polls thus far, as well as the Forward of the Month poll for August by a mile, he can now add the Player of the Month for August to the list of accolades with a comfortable 49% of the vote

The closest challengers were David Dunn (19%), Christopher Samba (12%), Matt Derbyshire (9%) and Ryan Nelsen (%), all of whom I personally feel were closer to Santa Cruz than the poll may suggest, but the majority have spoken, so Chico picks up the Award he deserves.

So in summary
Matt Derbyshire - 9%
David Dunn - 19%
Ryan Nelsen - 9%
Morten Gamst Pedersen - 2%
Roque Santa Cruz - 49%
Christopher Samba - 12%

Rovers have some players going out of contract next summer, so come January they will be free to negotiate moves elsewhere. Some would want to be kept, others maybe not so. So the current poll, suggested by IsraeliRover is asking, "The following player's contracts soon expire. Who would you most like to keep?"

As for what you think, cast your vote and why not have your say on the latest polls findings.

He does deserve it, that much is true but other players have performed admirably too to make our start so good.

The winning margain (as I have said) was WAY to big, we all know this.
You know what Mikey, I think you might be right about god, he is slipping into the Brad Friedel mould, you come to accept brilliance as standard so don't always appreciate what he does.

I am always right lol.... (20% of the time anyway!) I think people are forgetting how frail we look without Nelsen.... he is probably our most important player and also the Captain and the best leader we have.
