Rovers' Santa Was Much In Demand

Blackburn Rovers striker Roque Santa Cruz has revealed how a whole clutch of Premiership clubs had been interested in signing for him before he decided that Rovers were the team for him.

Santa Cruz signed for what is already looking a bargain £3.5 million from Bayern Munich during the summer, with Rovers' vision for the future proving the defining moment for his choosing Ewood Park ahead of a number of others Premiership sides.

The Paraguayan International told The Independent: "I had four or five clubs who were interested in me. I talked to some people, managers, and Mark Hughes made the difference.

"He told me his ideas. It was a simple decision after that. He said I would get the opportunity to play. And to learn.

"He said this team is competitive, but that I will only help to make it more competitive. I had a good feeling. I feel fit and strong. I feel like I can do everything now
."

He has already rewarded Rovers by already scoring three goals in five matches, including a goal within three minutes of his debut.

It is NO surprised that he would have been so much in demand, as he is a GREAT footballer. I have already called him World-Class before he signed, and I stick by this, he is!!!

He looks like a great player. I took a risk by putting him in my Fantasy team and it's paying off.
Aamir
I put him in mine as well but I KNEW it wouldn't be a risk!

I didn't dare put him in mine as I did have slight reservations about the amount of goals he would score. I knew he is a top talent but when it came to scoring a lot, well. Even after his start it is still early days but he has indeed made a tremendous start. If he continues like this I reckon there will be a few more clubs after him come the end of the season!

There may be clubs after him but after the season Rovers will have (which will be GREAT!!!) he will not want to go anywhere!
Hughes Da Man
Maybe the other clubs were to big for him.
platos
Maybe they weren't big enough!!!

I had reservations as well but looks like he is proving me wrong... but then I am more than grateful that he is!!!!

maybe he chose the best option to him... if I was a striker there is no-one better to continue to improve under than Hughes.
