Rovers vs. Birmingham (D'oh!!!)

Blackburn Rovers have been drawn against Birmingham City in the Third Round of the Carling Cup.

With Rovers involved in European Competition, like the other teams competing in Europe they did not enter the Carling Cup until the Third Round, and after Saturday's lunchtime draw Rovers will face Birmingham at Ewood Park.

Robbie Savage left Birmingham under a cloud, so will be facing his former side who will undoubtedly give him a frosty reception, it is just a good thing that the match is at Ewood and not at St Andrews, now that would have been daunting!!! Birmingham are of course David Dunn's former side as well.

The all Premiership tie is one of five that features Premiership against Premiership, with the ties to be played week commencing 24 September 2007.

It's not a bad draw for Rovers really is it. I'm just glad that it is at Ewood Park though!

True, the home advantage will be key but it would have been better to have a 'lesser' side. Alas, if we can overcome them it will be one Premiership side out.

Yer could be a fiesty affair, Savage and Dunn will deff get some stick they prob will both score though. Good thing isn't at St.Andrews though but should win at Ewood.

i'll take a home win for this one! Could get feisty though!

could of been worse i guess, if we get through this round, there will be barring any upset, 10 premier league teams left. Great odds for further progression with arsenal against newcastle, fulham and bolton, reading and liverpool, tottneham and boro against each other
sasman
That was my thinking sassy, IF we (spurs or blackburn) progress i would expect a very good cup run
Phartman87
Exactly dudes, the odds are already in both (Rovers and Spurs') favours to have good Cup runs if these Rounds can be negotiated (as they will!)
Hughes Da Man
Would of taken all but about 3 teams as long as it was at home... good draw. I expect to progress.
