Chris Samba Top Rovers Defender

Vital Blackburn's most recent Poll asked, "Defender/Keeper of the Month for August?" You voted in favour of Christopher Samba.

Samba won the accolade several times last season, including THREE straight months running and he starts this season with a landslide victory on 58% to take his place in the overall poll to determine the Player of the Month for August

Ryan Nelsen's 11% sees him finish as runner up to the Wall, and as such he also advances to the overall Player of the Month poll taking place soon.

Brad Friedel (8%), Stephen Warnock (8%), Martin Olsson (5%) and Andre Ooijer (5%) completed the poll.

So in summary
Brett Emerton - 5%
Brad Friedel - 8%
Ryan Nelsen - 11%
Martin Olsson - 5%
Andre Ooijer - 5%
Christopher Samba - 58%
Stephen Warnock - 8%

As the search for August`s Player of the Month continues the current poll is asking, "Midfielder of the Month for April?." Who will join Christopher Samba & Ryan Nelsen? You decide.

The Wall deserved this all the way. I'm glad God made it in as well though.

Really excelled hasn't he, and MUCH quicker than expected. What a giant, and what a defender, who SHOULD only get better as well!!!

A well deserved award for big Chris, whom my brother so eloquently describes as a 'machine'!
