'If It's Football, It's Vital'

This Season Promises A LOT

Expectation levels were high at Blackburn Rovers before the season started, now that we are six competitive games in and Rovers are still unbeaten Mark Hughes believes that this season could be something else for the club.

The 1-1 draw with Everton at Goodison Park on Saturday Evening kept Rovers unbeaten start to the season intact, and made it four wins (three in the UEFA Cup, including the Intertoto Cup games) and two draws out of six matches, with two of these already against teams that finished fourth (Arsenal) and fifth (Everton) last season in the Premiership.

It is not just the fact that Rovers have remained unbeaten; it is the manor of the performances that has impressed Hughes the most, and he feels we are in for a superb season.

After the game on Saturday he told the Official Blackburn Rovers Website: "I saw some great signs from my side, I'm sure we'll be very much in the mix this season.

"We've played two difficult away games and the one game at home we've had was against a side from the top four, so it wasn't an easy start for us.

"For us to have the return we've had already and are still unbeaten, it is a decent start
."

It has certainly been a fine start to the season (for a change!) and hopefully things can only get better. We SHOULD increase this unbeaten run against MyPa on Thursday as well.

And then against Man City too hopefully great start best in years!!!

Does anyone fear a strong start may lead to us running out of steam at the end of the season. Playing a few to many matches? Or is that my eternal pessimism...?

If we stay clear of the crippling injuries of last yr then i think we will be ok, the younger lads will come in for the cup matches to give them a chance and some confidence. I worry about our midfield though still thinks its a bit too lite weight and if Warnock gets injured, wot with Berner out, we would have to rely on kids, saying this didnt do Man City or Arsenal any harm
Clint
thik the fitness of the players is very high and as long as we stay injury free with a small squad we should be good to go... I cant see burn out being a factor!

Me neither, the players ar to fit and motivated to burn out. The early season start could be the best thing to happen to Rovers this season.
