Dunn Getting Better All The Time

David Dunn scored his first goal for Blackburn Rovers since returning to Ewood Park against Arsenal on Sunday and Mark Hughes feels it is no more than he deserves, as he is getting better ALL the time.

Dunn had a few moments last season, but on the whole his fitness was still lacking (which was MORE than understandable.) However, Hughes feels that Dunny is getting better with each game he plays and his showing on Sunday showed signs that he could be getting back to his very best (as EVERYONE had hoped, but several worried wouldn't be the case.)

His performance against Arsenal (from what I am told) was superb and his goal (with a GREAT deal of help from Arsenal goalkeeper Jens Lehmann!) was reward for his efforts.

Hughes told the Lancashire Telegraph: "We are delighted for Dunny. I thought he was excellent,' said the Rovers boss.

"His general play and his determination to have a positive effect on the game was excellent, and he'll be delighted with the goal.

"I pulled his leg afterwards and said it was an own goal, but he wasn't having any of that.

"Seriously, though, he looks stronger in every game he plays and he's having a bigger influence every time he takes part, so I'm delighted that he's back and getting to the levels that we knew he could
."

GET IN THERE Dunny, good lad!
Personally I was not sure that Dunny would play that much this season but if he keeps playing well it WILL be hard to leave him out. Fingers crossed we see much more of the same, and PLENTY of goals (helping hands from opposing goalkeepers WILL be accepted lol!)

r u blind? dunn had a completley annonymous 1st half and barely improved in the 2nd. if he didnt score his flukey goal u lot wouldnt be talking about him. unless ofcourse u judge how good ur players hu can get the most kicks from behind on fabregas hleb n van persie? in which case its a dead heat between fatty and tht useless blonde ****.
beautiful_football
He's an f*ing thug, along with all the rest of his teammates! That wasn't football from Rovers, it was an attempted mugging!
devvil
Arsenal supporters, take some prozac.

Just read a very good comment on the BRFC Supporters website (is that a rival site to this, or do we all get on...?). It made me smile, anywhoo... http://www.brfcs.co.uk/mb/index.php?showtopic=17204 is th link...

That is a priceless comment Decimus Poole. I thought Dunn had an exceptional second half, he was inspiring and looked a real leader on the pitch, plus his drive from the middle of the park is back. Played some nice thread passes too that Cesc would have been proud of if he wasn't too weak to hold onto the ball!

superb decimus poole... and for the whinging Arsenal fans... Dunn has been given man of the match in every paper. STOP WHINGING

I thought Dunn's link up with Bentley especially was lovely. It was a lovely 1-2 for the goal. It's good to see him getting back to what we know he can do. Fingers crossed for an injury free season for him...!
Decimus Poole
An injury free season for David Dunn? There arn't enough clovers in Ireland!
Phartman87
that is a big ask that poole mate!!!
MikeyGamst
Boo hoo Rovers didn't let Arsenal win as they should have, lets attack Rovers and say how ***** Dunny and everyone else it!
beautiful_football - I didn't see the game but I don't think virtually every paper that gave him the Man of the Match Award could be wrong!!!
devvil - You're mind on Rovers is clearly made up, so I will not attempt to change your mind, to be totally honest I'm *****ed off with the way people view Rovers, sod them from now on, let them think what they want ROVERS fans know the truth, and that is ALL that matters!!!

Welcome back HDM... and spot on as usual.... ignornance at its finest from some people.

well dunn made some priceless blocks and linked up well for the goal! i was really critical of him last season especially after the villa game when i felt he gave the ball away too easy but heres hopin he gets better abd better!
durks de rover
he has certainly started off on the right foot this year. didnt stop running for the whole 90 mins...
MikeyGamst
He has started on the right foot, lets he finishes on, or with, both feet!
Decimus Poole
I felt better after that little outburst (I think I made me point lol!) you can only be pushed so far can't you.

Good on Dunny. I will admit I was not entire sure about him coming back, but I've been happy with what he has done thus far, here is to more of the same that we saw from Dunny that we saw against Arsenal, against others.
Hughes Da Man
If he plays like that every week he will be difficult to drop!!! lol
