Bentley Left Out Of England Squad

Bentley Left Out Of England Squad

It is being alledged that David Bentley has been left out of the England Squad to face Germany next week?

Steve McClaren officially names his England Squad for the International friendly with Germany later today but this WILL NOT include Rovers winger David Bentley (according to the Lancashire Telegraph) despite a superb start to the season, and another superb performance against MyPa in Finland on Thursday.

Bentley's decision to withdraw from the England Squad for the Under-21's European Championships earlier this summer with fatigue was met with much criticism (and I could see both sides of this argument) however, it was understood that McClaren would not hold this against him, but IF (and nothing has been confirmed in "quotes") he has been overlooked again then I think we get our answer their don't we!!!

There are no direct quotes, but the Lancashire Telegraph wrote: Mark Hughes confirmed this morning that the Rovers midfielder has not been included in the England squad to face Germany next week.

I was disappointed with Bents pulling out of the Under-21's, but if it was in HIS and ROVERS' best interests to do so then it had to be done, but IF (the big if) he has been overlooked then no matter what Stevie Mac says it is because of that!!!
I don't care what ANY opposing fans say had one of their star players pulled out with a similar reason if it benefited their club in the long run then they WOULD have been happy with it. If they say otherwise they ARE lying!!!
If Stevie Mac would rather pick players that are injured, are not playing for their club or are not even in form then so be it, he will find out the hard way when these "quality" players fail to delivery that moment of magic (that Bents can), which WILL ultimately cost him his job!!!
Of course, if these early reports prove untrue then Stevie Mac is of course a great man for selecting bents lol!

I knew I'd have to move quickly on this one, so pulled out all the stops to get it sorted before doing other things before work. However, to be honest I wish you HAD beaten me because I think your original one was BETTER than mine!!! The amended version is still top stuff though dude, nice one.
Get Stevie Mac OUT (and I'm not just saying this because he left out Bents!)

I still think the best choice for the job would of been Martin O'Neill

Completely agree, he was ALWAYS the man that I wanted but he isn't, nor would he EVER be the puppet that the FA want and have in Stevie Mac.
