The Forgotten Rovers Man!!!

Many people will have forgotten all about Blackburn Rovers goalkeeper Peter Enckelman? However, he insists that he is happy to bide his time and wait for an opportunity.

The forgotten man of Rovers has only made three appearances for Rovers in the last three-years but he is adamant that he is happy to wait for am opportunity to crop up should (heaven forbid!!!) Brad Friedel get injured, or should he simply be rested. Even if the unthinkable did happen, or he was given a break then Jason Brown, and probably even summer signing Gunnar Nielsen are ahead of him in the pecking order aren't they?

The patience and attitude towards not playing from the Finnish International is commendable but personally I think that he will be waiting A LONG time for another chance and to be brutally honest I can't see him playing another game for Rovers.

I had forgotten he was still with Rovers until I stumbled across him saying his happy to wait his turn, but he won't play again will he?!?! I have nothing against him but for his sake (if nothing else) surely it is best to move on???

I think his by far better than this Brown fella (even Gillingham did'nt offer him a new contract), the thing is that his contract expires next June so Sparky looked for cover. I'd go for either Kelvin Davis, Alex Boruc or Boaz Myhill when the time comes for Friedel
IsraeliRover
WHY go for Davis dude he ISN'T much younger than Enks!!! Personally I think Brown is a better goalkeeper than Enks anyway, we also have Gunnar Nielsen, not to mention several youngsters so WHY even bother getting another goalkeeper?!?! Besides Friedel still has a few years in him yet.

I agree with your last line HDM. This Nielsen is a GK I've never heard about. Fielding- on the numerous times I've seen him play for the reserves is far from being a premiership GK. Kelvin, in my opinion is a brilliant GK who only needs a manager's trust. Enckers will probably leave- 'cause he wont play for us in the coming years...
IsraeliRover
gunnar nielson ahead of him? hmm. i think enckleman is third, pushing for second place goalkeeper. brown is good but pretty unconventional. i see encks as a van der sar style keeper, but then i've hardly seen him play!
