Rovers MOTM vs. Middlesbrough

Rovers MOTM vs. Middlesbrough

Vital Blackburn's most recent poll asked, "Rovers Man of the Match vs. Middlesbrough?" Roque Santa Cruz.

The 2007-2008 Season got underway on Saturday with the 2-1 win over Middlesbrough at the Riverside Stadium, and the man that stood out for most was actually a substitute who made enough of an impact in thirty minutes to claim the Man of the Match Award.

Santa Cruz came on to score within a few minutes, so this pushed him a long ways towards this, and his 37% JUST saw him edge out who the ever dependable (if not MUCH taken for granted Brad Friedel who finish runner up with 35%.

The rest were much the same, however Matt Derbyshire (9%) and David Bentley (5%) most threatened to pull away from the rest. Jason Roberts failed to register, ending with 0%!!!

So in summary
Friedel - 35%
Ooijer - 2%
Samba - 1%
Nelsen - 2%
Warnock - 1%
Bentley - 5%
Dunn - 2%
Savage - 2%
Pedersen - 3%
McCarthy - 1%
Roberts - 0%
Santa Cruz (sub on 60mins) - 37%
Derbyshire (sub on 78) - 9%

The final instalment of Clint's overrated or underrated series is the subject of the current poll, which is asking for your opinion on the "Most underrated players?"

Positive Signs For Bennett

Bennett was positive of Blackburn being able to see off Lancashire rivals Preston heading into this game at Ewood Park after the Norwich and Fulham results.

Minor Graham Setback

Blackburn had to do without Danny Graham against Preston following the groin problem that forced him off against Fulham last week. He could return against Brighton next week.

Hugely Frustrating

Mowbray admitted Blackburn didn't start the game well against Preston but had then been the dominant side so was 'majorly disappointed' not to record a victory.
