Man United Star Did Rovers A Favour

Man United Star Did Rovers A Favour

And who says Manchester United are all bad!!! Roque Santa Cruz has said that it is thanks in part to United's Owen Hargreaves that he signed for Blackburn Rovers.

Santa Cruz and Hargreaves were team-mates at Bayern Munich for eight-years, and it was England International Hargreaves that immediately befriended Santa when he signed for the German Giants in 1999.

The pair would converse in English (until they were told to speak in German) which is something that Santa says has helped him settle so quickly into the English game. Although Hargreaves left Munich before Santa did this summer he claims that Hargreaves recommended the move to Ewood Park saying he would be happy here.

Santa Cruz told the Sun: "When I arrived in Germany I started speaking with Owen and English was the first language I learned.

"For six months I only spoke English and then the boss stepped in and told me to speak German.

"Speaking English has really helped me settle here. Owen has made it much, much easier for me.

"It has helped me get closer to the players. You can understand jokes and feel part of things.

"Myself and Owen are great friends. Owen recommended Blackburn and told me I'd be happy here
."

Gold old Owen Hargreaves, I ALWAYS knew he was a great football and never doubted him for England, much lol! However, Hargreaves has proved his quality for England (and I GENUINELY do rate him very highly now) and now I have even more time for him than I did before after reading this.
Not all Manure players are bad, just most of them lol!

As nice as it is for him to say that, but what on earth does Hargreaves know about Rovers? Never played in Prem and never played against us. It wasn't like the praise Ruud Van gave us a year or so ago. Still its nice to hear 'TOP' names praising us.

Just because Hargreaves has never played in this Country is doesn't mean he doesn't know about the game or Rovers does it dude?!?! He obviously knows and appreciates quality doesn't he, so sees beyond the factors that others can't.

I'll admit for several years I couldn't for the life of me understand WHY he was playing for England, but his true quality shone out at the World Cup didn't it. In fairness though he was only get a few mintues here and there before wasn't he and was played in sooo many different positions. Top man, and top footballer (get it sorted Mikey lol!)
