Rovers Skip Says Santa Is Too Good!

Roque Santa Cruz has been a pain in Ryan Nelsen's ass (a different one to part of his injury nightmare from last season!!!) not because the Blackburn Rovers skipper doesn't like him, simply because he is so good!

Nelsen is finding Santa Cruz a nightmare to cope with in training because he is SO GOOD, something that Rovers will benefit from immensely this season as he torments defences up and down the country, and throughout Europe.

Rovers' skipper told the Official Blackburn Rovers Website: "He's been a pain in the neck to tell you the truth! He's big, he's quick and he's skilful - I'm just happy when he's on my team in training.

"He's been a great signing. He's come in and has fitted like a glove - a really nice guy, who works hard and is pretty much what a Rovers type-A player should be like, so it's fantastic.

"I don't want to add any extra pressure to what there already is, but we all know that he is an extremely good player. Hopefully he'll get an opportunity to prove himself to the league and I think if he gets his opportunities then I think he'll be very successful
."

As we ALL know Santa Cruz marked his Rovers debut with a goal in the 2-1 win over Middlesbrough, scoring with his first touch after coming on as a substitute for the injured Benni McCarthy.
