Rovers Let Garner Go To Carlisle

Blackburn Rovers have let a second striker leave Ewood Park this week. Following Francis Jeffers out of the exit gates is promising youngster Joe Garner, who has signed for Carlisle United.

The 19-year-old has signed for Carlisle for a club record 140,000, which could rise to 150,000 if they achieve promotion to the Championship. Garner enjoyed a successful loan spell with Neil McDonald's side last season, and despite interest from others has chosen to return on a permanent basis.

Rovers have however included a sell-on clause for any future move Garner may well make away from the Cumbrians.

Personally I have to admit I am disappointed to see Garner leave, I thought a loan would have been more the order of things?!?!
I hope Sparky knows what he is doing, but as we say, in Sparky we trust!!!

I would have expected a loan too, as he seemed to be causing quite a stir in the reserves. but hey ho, at least there's a sell on clause!

I too was surprised with this decision, however, I wish the talented lad all the best and hope that he can propel Carlisle onto bigger and better things! Good luck Joe.

Still, some 24-hours later I'm surprised that he was allowed to leave. But there you go, what can you do?!?!
Indeed, good luck to the kid and of course the better he does the more we get of any future sell on fee!!!

I am suprised by this but wit the young quality strikers we have, it would of taken him a while to get near the first team.

True, but he's only 19 isn't he and Benni and JR are no whipper snappers are they. Sparky know best I guess!!!

Garner could have been amazing and i have no idea why we have let him go, he should have just gone on loan.
