Rovers & Wednesday AGREE Jeffers Fee

Sheffield Wednesday Manager Brian Laws' calls for Blackburn Rovers striker Francis Jeffers to make the step down to the Championship could pay off, as the two clubs HAVE agreed a fee for the player.

Wednesday are possibly the biggest club outside of the Premiership, and a good tip for a promotion challenge this season, which MIGHT be aided by Jeffers after the Owls and Rovers, agreed a fee for the 25-year-old (reported as £700,000) who has been given permission to speak to the Championship side by Rovers Chairman John Williams.

Jeffers has already priced himself out of a move to Ipswich Town (after a fee had also been agreed with them earlier in the summer) now all that remains to be seen is whether or not hill will do this again and see a move to Hillsborough collapse also?!?! However, it is STRONGLY believed that this deal WILL go through, and could be agreed by the end of the week.

Williams told the Lancashire Telegraph:

"Francis has formally got permission to speak to Sheffield Wednesday and we understand discussions are taking place."

COME ON Franny you know it is time for you to move on, if you screw this move up you will probably kill off any hopes you have of making it as a footballer as teams WILL NOT want to take on a money hungry mercenary like you (even when you become a free agent and Rovers let you go!!!)
Sheffield Wednesday are a MASSIVE club, so personally if I was him I wouldn't think twice about the move.
Hughes Da Man
did he produce anything for rovers, he really seems to have lost his way ?
Hudders
Personally I don't really think that much can be judged on what has been seen of him, as he didn't get much chance really. However, when he did he didn't often give much!!! He played a part of a superb goal for David Bentley last season, that was a different class.
He NEEDS to play regularly to get some confidence back, and should do this in the Championship.
I still think there is a good player lurking somewhere within him.
Hughes Da Man
I agree he hasnt looked good for a number of years but I think that is cos he hasnt really ahd a good run in any team since Everton. The move to the Gunners came to soon for him I think, added to the fact that he never played. U would probably expect that Wenger had him scouted b4 spending £8m or that on him so there has to be player in there somewhere. Maybe Wed is the team to get the best outta him, so best of luck
Clint
Yeah take him now!!! Would be good with a run of games and at that level and relegation candidates of the premiership, but not the Rovers looking for Europe every season, and with the quality forwards we have.
roverjoy
He produced a goal against Basle from the penalty spot... apart from that... err.... no.

roverjoy taking the pi$$? Sheffield Wednesday are as big as Blackburn Rovers m8. You've got a great chairman, manager and alot of T.V cash. Our chairman although has the best interest of the club....is skint. Francis Jeffers will be a better signing than Robbie Fowler and James Beattie at championship level. Once we get financial backing, we will be back up there!
Bigash
No Offence but glad hes gone now, just using up space and place on wage budget tbh was never going to break him but best off look at Sheff Wed. I firmly believe if he gets regular games and more confidence he could be an accomplished goalscorer in the championship, but i just dont think hes got the attribrutes to make it the modern day prem. Good look tho 'Franny'

Bigash - It all boils down the the argument on who you define "as big as Rovers" dude?!?! Fans wise, stadium wise etc. Wednesday ARE bigger than Rovers, League status in recent years seems to siggest otherwise!!!
adrianbrfc - Either way, I agree with dude, Jeffers WILL do well with Wednesday.
Hughes Da Man
Exactly Hughes Da Man, im saying with big T.V cash, great chairman and good manager, your league status will continue to get better and better. Owls have 1 of the 3! Good manager although little t.v cash and a skint chairman provide only a glimmer of hope for getting back in the big time. Sheffield United may have all 3.....but i hope they get relegated again for obvious reason, lol UP THE OWLS!!!!!!!!
Bigash
No one cares about how big a club is guys... it means diddly squat. It achieves you nothing. please don;t talk about club sizes thats for the arrogance of West Ham and Spurs.
