Rovers At The Double For Derby

Vital Blackburn's most recent poll, suggested by roverjoy asked, "Who will Blackburn do the double over next season?" Derby County are in for a double helping!!!

Not by a long way, but with 27% of the vote Premiership new boys Derby are the team that most feel Rovers will be able to do the home and away double over. The teams we SHOULD beat are the ones we usually come unstuck against, especially away but we REALLY should be targeting six points this season from the Rams.

Another team(s) with the "other" option (17%) and Middlesbrough (14%) could not really be split, with A LOT of people seeing the double over Middlesbrough, and whomever the "other" might be (I would HOPE most would want this to be Spurs LOL!)

Manchester City (11%), Wigan Athletic (11%), Sunderland (personally the team I think I would get MOST satisfaction out of STUFFING home and away, as I have a long memory, and HAVEN'T forgotten Roy Keane running his mouth after the FA Cup Semi Final!!!) and Birmingham (10%) completed the poll.

So in summary
Manchester City - 11%
Wigan - 11%
Sunderland - 10%
Birmingham - 10%
Derby - 27%
Middlesbrough - 14%
Other - 17%

We have looked at the positive side, with Rovers quite possibly going to do the double over several clubs this season, now lets turn the tables, what about teams doing the double over Rovers?!?! So the current poll, suggested by Hughes Da Man is asking, "Will anyone do the double over Blackburn this season?"

As for what you think, cast your vote and why not have your say on the latest polls findings…

I can GENUINELY see Rovers doing the double over ALL the teams specifically mentioned in this poll, and we SHOULD without doubt be beating them ALL at Ewood Park!
As I say I would LOVE to stuff Sunderland home and away after what Roy Keane said about being able to have easily beaten EITHER side after the FA Cup Semi Final game we had with Chelsea!!!

We have a good record against Man City... suprised that didnt get more votes.
MikeyGamst
Going to be a tough year ahead, all the teams around you have been strengthening. Don't see a lot of activity coming from Blackburn
Topspur1
Yeah i think we could do the double over most of the teams i suggested their, i can see us doing some harm to the big four though this season too at home will find out in two weeks won't we starting with Arsenal.
roverjoy
Topspur1 strengthening doesn't always mean quality. A lot of clubs, Hammered, Pompy, Spurs Sunderland, Man City have been spending wildly on what has to be regarded as players with potential or average players. £16 million for Bent is a lot of money for someone who isn't world class and I doubt will ever be. Same applies to £5.5m on Richardson, £8.8m on Bianchi, £7m on muntari. These are big prices for decent players. What we are doing at Rovers is consolidating what we have and adding to it. We have a good squad here, granted not as good as some others, but there is a great understanding, hence our confidence for completing doubles over numerous sides around us!

We need to do the double over West Ham, they always beat us and every1 takes the ***** out of me.
Derbyshire4England
They need to be done, we owe them one after last season especially.
MikeyGamst
Yes indeed was shocking last season, need to be relegated i say wrongly stayed up!!!
roverjoy
Topspur1 - Dude no need to spend if you basically have most of what you need already!!! The players in place already were awesome, add Maceo Rigters and Roque Santa Cruz (and personally I can still see at least one more before midnight on August 31st, even if this is a loan) and we are in great shape.
Rovers have quietly gone about their business, and EVERYONE will see their power this season.
The Hammered are one of my "most hated" teams now after the going's-on of last season.
Hughes Da Man
I dont think u can predict something like doing a double over another team in a whole season, its just impossible. As for strengthing why would you add players to a team that arent really needed. Hughes is a smart man in the transfer market as he has already shown and dosent really need to stengthen, I suppose he could but Rovers is not a club where players would be happy to sit on the bench and it would be hard to get the calibre of players u need, at the min!
Clint
good call clint it is tricky... things never got to plan... Rovers have a history of playing bad against the lower placed clubs and well against the higher placed clubs.
MikeyGamst
and please stop talking rubbish topspur1....
MikeyGamst
That;s a little restrained isn't it dude "and please stop talking rubbish topspur1" I was expecting more lol!
