Berner Facing Long Injury Lay-Off

As expected Blackburn Rovers' Bruno Berner is facing a VERY lengthily injury lay off, after sustaining a broken bone in his foot against Huddersfield Town on Wednesday Evening.

Berner limped away from the Pre-Season friendly with an injury to his right foot, with the worst being feared. Having undergone X-ray's on Thursday afternoon these fears were recognised with it revealed he has broken a bone, which will see him out for SEVERAL months, with him having an operation later this week.

The Swiss International is now set to be out for around a third of the season, some three or four months.

This is a MAJOR blow to the player and Rovers, and is exactly would you DON'T want at this point of the season. Really bad lack for Berner, who would have hoped to have been more involved this season, but will already be playing catch up come the end of this year/the turn of the next.

lengthily? lol
martinr
thats a heftily blow, for a fridayley. lengthily !!! lol
laughing norm
no problems, got the strengthily in depthily, to cover, the lay offily.
Towntalk
Bruno is the main cover on the left hand side, maybe Andy Taylor will get a chance now though!!! Shame for Bruno i think this was the season he was going to get a chance with all these games we are going to have.

There seems to be a lot of players getting foot injuries - could it be the boots they now wear?
merlin
It is a shame for the player he looks decent enough cover, after all thats all he'll be to Warnock but like Roverjoy say's it will maybe benefit one of our younger players like Taylor, who really deserves a crack at the team
Clint
Do you not think three or four months is a lengthily lay-off guys?!?! That's a third of the season, so I'd call that an extended spell on the sidelines!!!
Hughes Da Man
I think I see what you are getting at?!?! Maybe the questining of the use of "lengthily" itself as oppsed to "lengthy" Both are genuine words aren't they, which basically mean the same thing.
Hughes Da Man
Either way, I'm just changing it to long LOL!
Hughes Da Man
haha! I don't think 'lengthily' is a word? Unless it refers to something that is lengthier than lengthy?
martinr
Seriously lengthily is a genuine word dude, look it up you find things like "at length" and "for a long time".
We can't all be as gifted as HDM :) LOL!!!
Hughes Da Man
In Hebrew we tend to say that "whatever happens- has a goal"- perhaps now Taylor will get a chance as a cover?
IsraeliRover
I'll tell you what during the pre season Bruno has been looking a lot more handy... he will be missed slightly I think but the good news is that it presents opportunities for others.
MikeyGamst
Olsson played left back today and he was better than Berner.
Derbyshire4England
Yeah but dude Berner has YEARS of experience, that is VERY hard to replace. Olsson SHOULD be a star in the years to come though.
