Rovers Fixture Changes Confirmed

Blackburn Rovers had earlier this week written to the Premier League requesting permission to re-arrange some fixtures due to the clubs UEFA Cup involvement. This request has been accepted, and some alterations made.

Rovers' involvement in the 2nd Qualifying Round of the UEFA Cup meant that matches would have to be played on Thursday 16th and Thursday 30th August 2007, which posed a problem with a few scheduled Premiership fixtures.

What was originally scheduled to be the first Premiership fixture at Ewood Park this season against Aston Villa on Wednesday 15th August will now be re-arranged, and the Ewood encounters with Arsenal and Manchester City will be put back 24-hours. The Arsenal game will now take place on Sunday 19th August, the Manchester City match on Sunday 2nd September, both kicking-off at 3pm.

As yet, no date has been set for the re-arranged Villa match.

It was ALWAYS expected that the Premier League would agree to this request, and so they have!

Shame they couldn't or haven't put any of the rearranged games on the box though!

They might do eventually, normally second half of the season Rovers are on a lot more. Going to be tough all these games, but going for at least semi's in one of them.

I'm putting my money on a UEFA Cup win again this season. I thought we could do it last year, but have even more belief we could this year you know guys!!!

Thats a bit of a bugger! We will both be playing catch up early on now.
