Rovers Fixture Merry-Go-Round

With Blackburn Rovers advancing to the 2nd Qualification Round of the UEFA Cup (as I am sure many had already expected) amendments to the Premiership fixtures early in the season will be made.

Aston Villa on Wednesday 15th August was scheduled to be the first Ewood Park Premiership fixture of the season, but with Rovers expected to be playing the 1st Leg of this 2nd Qualification Round on Thursday 16th this will have to be re-arranged, with the Premiership match with Arsenal now set to be the first Ewood match of the season, but even this is likely to be switched from Saturday to Sunday 19th August as a result of the Thursday Evening match.

The 2nd Leg of this Qualification Round will take place on Thursday the 30th August, which should mean another change. This match (also at Ewood) against Manchester City due to be played on Saturday 1st, will be put back until Sunday 2nd September. As Rovers advance further and further in the UEFA Cup (as we WILL!!!) we will encounter many more fixture changes, but we will be prepared for this.

None of these changes are official yet, but there shouldn't be a problem with getting them altered. Rovers have written to the Premier League to request these changes though, and should get an answer shortly.

This is something that we have come to accept, and even gotten used to after last season, when we played PLENTY of matches on a Sunday.
At least this meant rather than only getting thirty seconds on Match of the Day, we at least got a good few minutes on Match of the Day 2 on Sunday nights!!!

The Sunday matches are part and parcel of the UEFA Cup. With the larger squad this year hopefully we wont suffer as bigger hangovers. I am liking the though of longer highlights on MOTD 2.

We didn't really suffer hangover much last season after UEFA Cup games on the whole really did we?!?! Yeah dude, Match of the Day 2 is MUCH better than Match of the Day anyway!
Hughes Da Man
We did a bit mate. Bolton at home we lost, Man City we were terrible and some how won and Wigan at home we sucked and scraped home... with more players on board we are a lot better equipped.
MikeyGamst
Yeah some performances might have sucked, but results weren't bad on the whole were they? That is what I meant.

No surprises there then. Will Bentley be knackered by Christmas?
