After weeks of speculation surrounding Roque Santa Cruz, and a will he won't he move to Blackburn Rovers, he HAS completed his switch to Ewood Park.
The amount he has moved for is an undisclosed amount, but it is understood that Rovers have paid something in the region of £5 million for the 25-year-old Paraguayan International striker, who has signed a four-year contract.
With Bayern Munich signing strikers over the summer his chances would have been slim with the German Giants, so it was agreed that it was time for him to move on, and Rovers have won the race to sign the further striker Mark Hughes had been looking for all summer.
Santa Cruz is a world-class performer, who although untested in the Premier League will fit in superbly with the other strikers at Ewood, which leaves Hughes with a glittering array of striking talent to select from. Also signing a four-year contract means Rovers SHOULD yet see the best years of his career.

ALSO, let us not forget "in Sparky we trust!!!"
He is a great signing and leaves Rovers looking AMAZINGLY strong in attack, as well as other areas of the squad now, defenders beware!!!
Benni, JR, Derbs and obviously Rigters (as he has just arrived) are going nowhere. We have to remember that Benni & JR are not exactly young though are they, so Derbs, Rigters and Santa Cruz are the future, so could still learn from Benni & JR couldn't they, even Santa Cruz who is a world-class footballer<
Jeffers is a gonner now, I bet he wishes he had left for Ipswich now!!! I still hope Gally stays, as he too is still young enough to play his part, if he wants to?!?!
durks de rover - You make a fair point, but I still think we have enough at the back, and this season SHOULD be used as one to help Eddie Nolan along with his progression, so he is ready in a year or so's time to step up to the plate regularly.
