Benni WILL Start The Season A Rover

Benni WILL Start The Season A Rover

Vital Blackburn's most recent poll, suggested by im_a_blackburn_rover asked, "Where will Benni McCarthy be come the start of the new campaign?" I'll tell you where, Ewood Park!!!

We are certainly not lacking belief that Benni McCarthy will start the 2007-2008 season with Rovers, despite some reported interest from Newcastle United earlier in the week, constant links with Chelsea over the summer and Benni himself constantly saying that playing for a team that could offer him Champions League Football would be something he would prefer.

Things have gone quiet on the whole on the Benni front so the 88% that believe he will still be here when the season kicks off are almost certainly right. I just wish he would come out and say something positive now, and not a halfhearted statement basically covering himself (as he did a few weeks back.)

10% still think he could start the season with Chelsea, with the remaining 2% split 1% each between Newcastle and somewhere else completely different.

So in summary
Blackburn - 88%
Chelsea - 10%
Newcastle - 1%
Other - 1%

There is the potential within the current Rovers squad to see some of our players play for England VERY soon, so the current poll, suggested by Derbyshire4England is asking, "Who will be the next Blackburn player in the senior England team?"

As for what you think, cast your vote and why not have your say on the latest polls findings…

As I have said many a time before I did initially worry that we might lose Benni, but this worry did not last long and I FULLY expect Benni to be a Rovers player for the whole of the 2007-2008 season AT LEAST!!!

I always thought Hughes is a tough bugger when backed in a corner, any of the 'big 4' after McCarthy would be looking for a cheap option to fill a gap, they obviously don't know Sparky and have done there shopping elsewhere. TBH i think there's a bril chance he'll end his top flight career with Blackburn, not the worst situation for all parties me thinks

Certainly not a bad thing is it dude, Rovers benefit from his quality and he players virtually week in week out, who needs the Champions League LOL!
Aye, if Sparky digs his heels in, they stay dug in until he is ready to release them!!!

With all this crazy transfer money flying around (Hughes has commented on this himself), should we receieve one of those crazy offers, I would not blame Sparky for taking it. However, this would only be money in the bank, and to obtain a striker of Benni's quality would be hard to find, without offering crazy money ourselves.

Benni tested the waters to see if Chelsea would respond but they never looked at it seriously... As far as the other teams - I think it was all hyped by Agents and Media a lot more. West Ham have been trying to buy everyone. So although very relieved I am also not surprised.

1 in 10 chance of ending up at Stamford Bridge before the end of August! I doubt it!

It sounds like a nice plan dude.....but it's NEVER going to happen is it really. We SHOULD (if we sold, which we won't) get a lot for Benni but for starters we would be lucky to get £10 million for Benni as it is, I'd like Defoe here but he WON'T give up the London nightlife for Lancashire will he.
