Mark Hughes Says Benni IS Staying

Blackburn Rovers boss Mark Hughes has again reiterated that Benni McCarthy is going NOWHERE, and he WILL be here when the season gets underway.

All summer long their has been speculation linking McCarthy with a move to away from Ewood Park (with the player doing little to calm this) but Hughes has once again stressed that the club have no desire to sell him, and he is looking forward to seeing what impact Benni can make this season.

What we ideally need now is for Benni to come out himself and build on his comments from earlier in the week FULLY committing himself to Rovers, not just half-heartedly doing so.

Sparky told Sky Sports News:

"There's no situation. The situation is Benni is a Blackburn Rovers player and we're very happy with him.

"Obviously he had a fantastic season last year and we hope he is going to have a similar season this year
."

It has been a concern that Benni might leave, but I've ALWAYS believed deep down that he would stay (even if he didn't exactly want to!!!)
Come on Benni it's your turn now, to show TRUE commitment and come out and say something special now!!!

well chelsea have bought pizarro so they dont want him. is there any other interest? he was desparate to play in the prem and blackburn made that dream come true for him so he should stay loyal.

He will stay loyal Dales Dad don't you worry. If we can just bring in another top striker then we can be a real darkhorse next year, if not for top 4 then for top 6. We need McCarthy for this to happen and with the midfield being fit again the future looks pretty damn good!

I've been saying it for weeks guys, probably months even as I GENUINELY believe that if the players stay, and other arrive (and we are getting them!!!) we are MORE than a match for ANY side (other than the top four) in this League, and even on our day we can beat ALL sides, and SHOULDN'T lose to ANYONE at home, the top four are the only sides that I would accept beating us at Ewood Park!!!

Good call HDM...we need Ewood to be a fortress like the 05-06 season.
