Blackburn Rovers' latest recruit Maceo Rigters is VERY MUCH looking forward to starting his Rovers career after meeting his new team-mates for the first time.
I was not overly surprised when we finally did sign Rigters, but it does still AMAZE me that we were able to get the Dutch Under-21 International so cheaply!!! When news first started floating around about his availability I was expecting a fee in excess of £3 million, and doubted Rovers would get him for that?!?! Then we started seeing his name in connection with us more and more, and the rest is history!!! But one thing that can't be doubted is this guy has a BIG future ahead of him, and will be a star not only at Ewood Park, but in the Premiership full stop.
Rigters (who signed from NAC Breda earlier this week) had initially returned to Holland but is now back, and has joined in with pre-season training. Speaking Exclusively to Rovers World Rigters said:
"It is like a dream for me to play at the club.
"It is a big club and the competition will be good for me to see if I can make it. I know quite a lot about the club they have good players here such Benni McCarthy, Aaron Mokoena and of course Andre Ooijer, there are a lot of good players here."
All good to hear isn't it!!! He added:
"I had a great feeling about the club, I was here with my Dad and my agent and we made the decision to stay here as there was a good feeling.
"It is a great chance for me, it is a dream for every boy in Holland to play in the Premier League, I have the chance and I'm very happy with that."
