I am still on the last remaining days of my break, but the news that Benni McCarthy had failed to turn up for Pre-Season training brought me again out of my temporary seclusion.
At lunchtime today it was claimed that Blackburn Rovers returned for Pre-Season training on Monday minus the very high profile name of McCarthy (according to reports from BBC Sport, and others.) At that point nothing official had been confirmed so I didn't quite know what to think but my initial reaction was that I was livid!!! And obviously thought this was a VERY, VERY bad sign for Rovers (unless Benni had a VERY good reason?!?!)
The Official Blackburn Rovers Website soon issued this statement of denial, it said:
"CONTRARY to reports in the media, the club wishes to make it absolutely clear that Benni McCarthy was not absent from training yesterday and turned up as scheduled.
"McCarthy, like everyone else in the squad, was also present for training today."
Like I say before this statement I was absolutely disgusted (enough to break off my break, with a little push having received an email from a VBer AKA a Vital Blackburner asking if an article would be published on the matter) and although we couldn't jump to conclusions (even before this statement) too quickly I thought there would have to be a VERY, VERY good reason for him doing so, and if he had it would have appeared to have made his feelings perfectly clear on where he stood in relation to where his future lies. As we know in the early part of the summer Benni repeatedly said he would like to play for a Champions League playing side, but we did not want to sell him, and would not sell him. Things went quiet until now.
This must have been something (a no show) we have all feared but I genuinely didn't believe that Benni would do it, news that he had not only angered but also shocked me. Now that my heart has recovered from a minor attack it has proved that he didn't, with the club denying such an event so it is a case of panic over?!?!
All that remains to say is why would the media report such a thing? Even by their standards this is low. Thoughts as always below please VBers.

Why would such a story even come out though?!?! As even by the media's standards making up so a thing is pretty low!!! They say there is no smoke without fire don't they, so I think we haven't heard the last of this story yet?!?!
Hughes Da Man is going to crawl under his rock again for a day or two more now before he is back for good.
