Tugay and Clayton Are In

Vital Blackburn`s most recent poll, suggested by VBers asked, " Greatest Ever Rovers XI - Central Midfield (Top two get in!)
" The winner`s are Tugay and Ronnie Clayton. It is great to see both a classic old name such as the stalwart Clayton joined by one of our modern heroes. Both have become synonymous with the club in their own way and would make a formidable midfield pairing.

Tugay came out on top, quite clearly to be honest, but this is not about a solitary winner but the midfield team they would create.

So in summary
Ronnie Clayton - 29%
Jimmy Forrest - 12%
Eddie Latheron - 12%
Tugay - 47%

The current poll is asking, "Best Moment Watching Rovers?"

Tugs was always a shoe in wasn't he and to be honest Im not surprised Clayton got the nod too.

I am surprised that Sherwood wasn't in the poll. I know he wasn't the greatest midfielder in the world but he more than played his part in the Championship winning team and was a stalwart for Rovers for years - plus he lifted the trophy...

FYI - if it is in order Saturday morning on Sky Sports - Premiership years from when Rovers won the Premier League - a must see...

I agree about Tim. A great Rovers player!

I still think that any players still playing should not be eligible for the starting 11, but thats just my opinion

I don't know if any of you guys have seen it, but on youtube there is a video of Bents and Dunny having a dance-off with Benni watching over them. I believe it was filmed in a Preston nightclub. Check it out.

Is classic though!!!!

The best should get in, current players of not I wasn't around for the vote but the Maestro would have got mine no two ways about it, along with Clayton off course. But we can't forget Forrest and Latheron, they may have finished off hte pace but they were FAR better than the poll suggests.
