At the back end of last year our beloved Blackburn announced that in line with the hoards of money being pumped into the game through the new TV deal, supporters would benefit too with reduced prices on tickets, in particular season tickets.
I am pleased to announce that a statement has been released by John Williams, chairman of Blackburn, that season tickets sales have surpassed last years total, WITH 6 WEEKS LEFT TILL THE START OF THE SEASON!
Managing Director Tom Finn, talking to Rovers official website states... 'We are delighted that with almost two months until the start of the new season we have surpassed the number of season tickets sold last season.
'The figures are highly encouraging as there are still many fans who have yet to renew their season tickets and we would urge them to act quickly to secure the best seats available.
'The club has been at the forefront of the campaign to make Premiership football more affordable for all and it is clear that the Rovers supporting public have responded.'
This is fantastic news for a club that struggles to attract the fan base of its' more illustrious neighbours.
People forget that football is not just 11 v 11 it is about the fans. The bigger crowd we have the better atmosphere that will be generated and this can have a knock on effect to player performance.
Lets all make the effort to get there next year, I know it is difficult for some but that little extra effort may go a long way.
