Interest in Nonda cooling...

Lancashires' finest football club are believed to be losing interest in taking AS Roma loanee Shabani 'Chris' Nonda on a more permanent basis.

Hughes is now reluctant to spend £2 million of our currently limited transfer budget on a player who failed to set the Premiership alight during his first year in English football and actually goes looking for offside decisions at every available opportunity.

A player who believe it or not once cost Monaco £13 million, is also thought to be keen on a return to Italian side AS Roma after struggling to fully settle in England.

There are several other European clubs interested in Nonda and this may spark fears that his pirce may spiral as a result of a bidding war.

A Rovers source said: 'Mark still has an interest in Nonda but the fact he still hasn't pushed through a deal suggests he has other targets in mind.'

I for one am not mega keen on Nonda but do acknowledge the player has talent, I think he just lacks the drive and motivation to become a fans favourite or a success in the Premiership.

£2 million could be better spent elsewhere and I think Hughes is realising this now....

I think leaving him be would be the best idea, it didnt quite work out which is a shame.

I can see where your coming from with this one, but who else could we pick up for 2 mil
realrovers
Forsell, Earnshaw dunno who else, but to be honest, any1 else. The miss against leverkusen forever will last in my memory, farwell Mr Nonda, Farewell
sasman
Please dont mention that miss it makes me feel ill
realrovers
Exactly, thats why i dont want to c him in a rovers jersey anymore, the pain lol
sasman
I think Earnshaw is worth a bash but to be honest, there are many strikers in Europe that we havent heard of before who are better and we could could get for 2 million... Sparky will do us proud...
MikeyGamst
I have a feeling this is the usual "rovers bias" that is put on stories regarding us from the press. The premise of the story is simply "Rovers haven't agreed to buy yet", and is being sold as "obviously not interested". However, they don't seem to allow for the fact that we are allegedly having takeover talks today, and simply can't be expected to carry out transfer dealings with that in the pipeline. We could buy him (which i think we should) but then find out we have extra cash to splash, and end up with surplus players. We still have 'first dibs' so i would expect us to not respond re Nonda for at least a couple of weeks.
Head Rover Heels
I hope we dont respond to Nonda full stop lol
sasman
What about the Kamara bloke at West Brom, he 21 goes for them last season
realrovers
good call realrovers but he is apparently gonna cost a fair bit... and fair call on the takeover point HRH, I think your right on that.
MikeyGamst
Nonda is free to Wonda - IMHO - should he stay or should he go... sorry Shabani but back to Roma you go... go point tho HRH - usual media hype!
Ex Ewood Resident
£2m. Isn't that 4/5ths of a Benni McCarthy. Can't we get one of those instead?
theirishrover
4/5ths of a Benni McCarthy?? I'd rather have 13.33 Paul Dickovs...
MikeyGamst
lol i dont think we would finish a game, let alone a half with that many dickovs
sasman
I hope we've seen the last of Nonda. That £2.5million and the £1million for Jeffers should be used to bolster a bid for Bellamy.
spinaker7081
i think we should see where this take over thing goes if it falls through nonda isnt bad for a fourth choice striker all the same and if we do buy another striker it wont be a domestic signing i think sparky will find a player from the continent
