The side of the ground that I personally know as the Riverside will be given a new name for the next 5 years (at least) after Fraser Eagle, who are the clubs' travel partners, increased their sponsorship in the club.
The former CIS Stand will be re-branded the Fraser Eagle Stand after the club agreed a five-season deal with the Padiham-based multi-million pound transport and logistics group.
Speaking on the Rovers official website, Rovers' commercial manager Ken Beamish said: 'Fraser Eagle have become increasingly involved with the club in terms of supporter travel in recent years, and the coming together in this major sponsorship deal will further strengthen our relationship with the firm.'
Kevin Dean, group managing director of Fraser Eagle, added: 'We are extremely pleased to be sponsoring the Fraser Eagle Stand at Ewood Park for the next five seasons.
'Through our diverse group of businesses we have significantly increased our sponsorship of sport over recent years, and this has enabled us to increase massively awareness of our brand on a national level.
'We are therefore delighted to be stepping up our involvement with Blackburn Rovers both as a sponsor, and official travel partner, and wish the club all the best for the coming season.'
Now whilst not exactly being MEGA news or anything its good to know that our club actively looks for investment and the new name will freshen things up around the ground as well. Hopefully this will be the start of a slightly larger investment from a Rovers' supporting American business man in a few weeks!??!?!
