No Nonda, No Zamora for Rovers!

Vital Blackburn`s most recent poll, suggested by Sasman asked, "Who would you rather have at Ewood next season between Shabani Nonda and Bobby Zamora" The winner is, unsurprisingly, neither.

There have been questioned marks raised over Nonda`s proposed £1.4million transfer but it would appear that the vast majority of you wouldn`t want him here again next season. The same can be said for Zamora. His name has been connected with the club in recent weeks but he too isn`t the future.

So in summary
Zamora - 17%
Nonda - 15%
Both - 4%
Neither - 64%

As the search for the Greatest Ever Rovers Starting XI continues, we select two left wingers from the four in the squad, so the current poll is asking, "Rovers greatest ever squad - left midfield." Make your votes count, but vote WISELY!

As for what you think, cast your vote and why not have your say on the latest polls findings…

The result of this poll comes as little surprise. Nonda did okay for us last season, contributing some important goals but for many he didn't do enough. As for Zamora, well, no thanks!

I like Zamora but I think it all boils down to price.... as for Nonda I think we need to leave this one to Hughes... whe was the last time he let us down????

neither - you called that right :-)

I did read an article just recently saying he had been training back in Maonaco all summer with a personal trainer (paid for himself) to get better prepared for a season of English football. It said that he had found it hard to come to terms the subtle differences between the prem league and elsewhere... If this is true and if Hughes wants him then you are welcome at Ewood Shabani...

If Nonda could repeat wot he did with Monaco then Id welcome him back but I have the feeling he's a bit of a Kluivert, living on his reputation. Zamora cant make it into the West Ham team on a reg basis so wot would he offer Rovers!?!?!? Dont rate him at all, would rather have Grabbi back lol ( Does anyone know where he disappeared too?? )

Bit of a fan of Nonda myself. When you consider the horrific injury he had, the time out of the game, the move to a new country and related change of language, style of football, type of city he's living in, playing with the pressure of earning a contract... He's managed to be a superb "hold-up" striker, scoring plenty goals in a limited role, all whilst deprived of the explosive pace and "match-fitness" that his entire game was built on originally. Yes he's missed some sitters, but all when given time to think (and therefore consider his situation) Whenever he's had to play on reactions, there have been flashes of brilliance (and i don't mean above average - absolute class) If he works on his fitness and gets as sharp as he was before his leg disintegrated, he'll be phenomenal. As it is, for 1.5M he was good enough last year, any improvement is a bonus. Sign him up!!

It was a great bit of business to get Nonda on loan in the first place but I think we can all agree he has'nt made the impact we hoped he would. He comes across as lazy and looked disinterested out on the pitch in a lot of the games he's played in last season. We could re-sign him in the hope that he will improve his fitness and his determination but I would rather we used the money to bolster a bid for Bellamy.
