Greatest Ever Rovers XI - Right-Back

The Greatest Ever Blackburn Rovers Squad has been finalised, now we have the Starting XI's right-back! This man (unsurprisingly) Bob Crompton.

Eventually it was decided that the final selection of the two right-backs to get into this squad would be, Bob Crompton & Keith Newton. From these two with 89% of the VAST majority feel the right-back should be

Bob Crompton.

Congratulations to (Mr Blackburn) Crompton for becoming the latest name inducted into the Greatest Ever Rovers XI.

Keith Newton's 11% could possibly see him take his place on the bench (this will be decided at a latter date.)

This squad currently comprises of the following:

Goalkeepers - Terry Gennoe, Tim Flowers & Brad Friedel
Left-backs (or Wing-backs) - William Eckersley & Graeme Le Saux
Centre-backs - Mike England, Derek Fazackerley, Colin Hendry & Ryan Nelsen
Right-backs (or Wing-backs) - Bob Crompton & Keith Newton
Left midfielders (or Wingers) - Damien Duff & Scott Sellers
Central Midfielders - Ronnie Clayton, Jimmy Forrest, Eddie Latheron & Tugay
Right midfielders (or Wingers) - Bryan Douglas & Noel Brotherston
Forwards - Tommy Briggs, Simon Garner, Alan Shearer & Chris Sutton

Next up for selection will be the left-midfielders (or Wingers) so keep an eye out for the poll shortly.

Don't forget this selection process, CAN and WILL alter over time so if you DON'T AGREE WITH THIS have your say about making a change by clicking here.

With Benni McCarthy being linked with a move away; Craig Bellamy with a move back. The question is which of the two would most want to see at Blackburn next season? So the current poll, suggested by KevDP4L asks "Who would you most want to see at Blackburn next season Bellamy or McCarthy?"

As for what you think, cast your vote and why not have your say on the latest polls findings…

Mr Blackburn Bob Crompton was ALWAYS getting into the squad, he was then also ALWAYS getting into the team, so no surprises here. But DON'T be fooled, Keith Newton was a FAR better footballer than the 11% of the vote he gained suggested.

wasnt exactly a close call was it.... good call though and thats all that matters.
MikeyGamst
The right call wasn't it dude.
Like I have said though for people that don't know (and I too can't speak from personal experience) Newton was a MUCH, MUCH better footballer than the 11% suggests, I can't stress this enough.
Hughes Da Man
Absolutely... but sentiment wins out.
