Nice and easy this one guys, literally takes seconds (minutes if you need to register to vote) so well worth it! A GB team at the olympics is a MUST for me when it is over here as football is our national game isn't it, so we woudl HAVE to have a team.

It'll never happen for 2 main reasons. 1) The home countries do not want to be forced into one team and lose their individual status, as they are scared that FIFA might say "well you did a GB team for the Olympics, you can do one for the WC and Euros too! 2) It would be full of predominately English Players with a smattering of Welsh, Irish and Scots, as the team grew, there may be times when there are no players of a certain country even in the squad and therefore that counrtys fans wouldnt watch the game.

Yeah but come on, it is the Olympic Games in London we HAVE to have a GB Team as a once off!?!? I thought it had already been given the OK anyway?

If a GB team goes ahead, not only will i be very very surprised, i will eat my baseball cap! The day we get a GB team on the field without FIFA threatening us with amalgamation will be the day that Satan skates to work!

We'll see guys, I was almost certain FIFA had already said it would be OK for these Olympics, but obviously not?!?!

You may be right and FIFA have said its OK, but the moment they field that team, the respective home countries FAs are screwed! They have no basis or argument for keeping their individual status if that happens

It just doesn't seem right to me that the Olympics could be held without a home nations team in it, especially with it being the national game.

well, its been that way for many a long year and to be honest, would you want to be the manager of Team GB??? Who do you pick, who do you leave out, you are gonna pi$$ ppl off all over the UK by not picking certain players and could potentially alienate a whole country by not picking any of their players (Wales and NI spring to mind, possibly the Jocks too)

Players have to be under a certain age don't they, although you can have a couple over 21 or 23 or something can't you. As youngsters (in theory) with not so many tried and tested there might not be too much to choice between which nations players play or not?!?!
