Best Player We Faced this Season

With YOUR help Vital Blackburn has been trying to determine what have been the best and worst of the Blackburn Rovers 2006-2007 season.

The nominations are still be taken for other Awards, but the Vital Blackburn Awards for 2006-2007 continue to be dished out with the

Best Player to face Rovers this Season

When asked to simply leave the name of the player you believe has been the BEST Player to face Rovers this Season most felt…

Petr Cech should be the Award Winner! So congratulations go to Cech.

Chelsea's Czech Republic International goalkeeper put in a series of fine performances against us this season when we faced him, most notably the FA Cup Semi Final.

Had it not been for Cech that day (and a certain Morten Gamst Pedersen missed header at the death!) we would have not only played in the FA Cup Final this season but also comfortably won the Semi Final 3 maybe 4-1 in normal time, but as it was an inspired Petr Cech (isn't he always?!?!) made at least THREE world-class saves before Michael Ballack eventually broke Rovers hearts in Extra Time to give Chelsea the 2-1 win.

What a great goalkeeper Petr Cech is. I am sure that Rovers would not be alone in voting Cech as they best player to have faced them this season!

Thanks for voting on this, PLEASE KEEP your votes coming in for these other Awards, as there is STILL time to vote so click here for the list of categories and vote on the one(s) you want!

For me there is only one man better than Brad Friedel in this country and that man is Petr Cech!
Hughes Da Man
If you mean men between the posts then I agree, he's the best.
Zae
LOL Zae. Cech can be exceptional. Brad is up there but Petr "The Fractr" Cech has surpassed him now. Still Wouldn't swap Bradders but I'm biased!
BomBom
Cech is a champion. And what we also have to consider is that his backline were not as strong as previous eras, making him make more saves. congrats to cech
sasman
Whatever happened to good old english stoppers. And we wonder why our national team dont win anything.
Eddie01
If Brad was English he would be straight into the England starting line up....
MikeyGamst
Eddie01 - We (England) still have some decent goalkeepers you know and the defence plays as big a part in helping this guy out as much as the goalkeeper himself, and again we have a pretty sound defence really. Scoring the goals is what I worry more about as this is what stops us from winning anything!
Hughes Da Man
MikeyGamst - I wouldn't be so sure about this dude, as you (and your "maniac's") know what Stevie Mac is like!!!
Hughes Da Man
True HDM. Steve 'right hand man' McClaren simply doesn't ahve any time for Rovers players. How come he didn't give Bents his eng cap last night? Shocking. Oh as for Petr, he is without a doubt a formiddible opponent and has thwardted us on a great many of occasions.
roversman
have to agree with cech really, an awesome keeper
adrianbrfc
See my post int he forums RE McClaren and England! says it all.
BomBom
Surely he couldnt over look such guaranteed awesomeness though!!!! Bring the Jenas on for inspiration instead of Bentley?!?!?! eh....
MikeyGamst
Fair play to you guys - you called it right - he's immense!
merlin
Mikey, i think he only put Dyer on to stop him boring Bents to death in the back row!
BomBom
what do you mean BomBom??? Kieron is a really nice bloke, everyone knows that!?!?!?! lol
MikeyGamst
His real first name isnt Tim is it?
BomBom
No "Completely" is his first name I have been lead to believe....
MikeyGamst
Ive looked up his middle name too and thats "anutterly" No wonder he goes by Kieron!
