Best Team Faced this Season

With YOUR help Vital Blackburn has been trying to determine what have been the best and worst of the Blackburn Rovers 2006-2007 season.

The nominations are still be taken for other Awards, but the Vital Blackburn Awards for 2006-2007 continue to be dished out with the

Best Team faced by Rovers this Season

When asked to simply leave team you believe have been the BEST Team faced by Rovers this Season most felt…

Manchester United should be the Award Winner! So congratulations go to Man United.

Man United were the unanimous winners here, I think EVERY person that voted on this agreed that Man United were the best team that we faced this season.

The were solid enough when the came to Ewood Park and eventually got a goal to take a 1-0 victory with them but it was at Old Trafford that they really excelled. Rovers took a 1-0 lead into the break through Matt Derbyshire's goal (but mainly thanks to Brad Friedel!) but a second half showing of the highest order eventually saw United get the break through (not even Brad could stop this!) and then with them playing some fine football they eventually romped to a 4-1 victory that could, and maybe should have been more. Had it not been for Friedel is certainly would have…

It pained me to vote Manure, but they were TOP CLASS that day and would have beaten ANY team in the world! Over the course of the season (again as much as it pains me lol!) I don't think that anyone can disagree that Manure were without doubt worthy Premiership Champions.

Agreed mate, I cant stand Fergie and half their side, but credit where its due, they blew us away that 2nd half. Even fergie recently commented that it was probably the best half they played all season and turned their year around so to speak!
BomBom
Comgrats to Man U. I thought when derbyshire nicked that goal we could hold out, but they really showed there class in the last 3o minutes, if it wasnt for bradders im sure the score would of been even greater
sasman
No disrespect but wouldnt you say Arsenal in the EPL? 6-2 at the grove with Van Persie, and 2-0 with a man down at ur place. I say it has to be Arsenal.
gunnerkid107
But u knocked us out of the Cup, so i can see man u winning it but i wouldnt think it would be unanimous.
gunnerkid107
BomBom-same thing happened to us at WHL v Manchester United.A tight game ended 0-4 after Ronaldo & co cranked up the gas in the second half.Men v Boys tbh.Hughes Da Man-AGREED!!They were a joy to watch & a total contrast to Chelsea.Their best showing imo was at The Reebok Stadium v Bolton, truly wonderful pass & move/one touch bliss..........
chalky76
Man U deserved this... they destroyed us in the second half at OT like no-one else could. That 6-2 game against Arsenal doesnt even begin to tell us how closely fought that game was until the last 5 mins.
MikeyGamst
chalky76 - I only saw bits of that 4-0 pumping they gave Bolton (they also did them 4-1 didn't they?!?!) but in both meeting with Fat Sams boys (as they were) they gave them a lesson didn't they.
Hughes Da Man
gunnerkid107 - Much like MikeyGamst says Manure ripped us apart in that 4-1 beating, the Gooners beat us 6-2 but the scoreline by no means tells the full story of that game, you were NEVER (and most of your lot admit this) four goals better on the day, Manure were easily three goals (minimuim!) better than us on that day particular day at Old Trafford.
Hughes Da Man
Sounds good mate. Man U deserved to win.
gunnerkid107
It could of been 10-1 to Man U on that day if it wasn't for the Premier Leagues' best goalkeeper. Aresnal would of been flattered by a 4-2 scoreline... let alone 6!!!! On an unrelated note the correct team won this award and the Premiership this year.
MikeyGamst
no votes for Chelsea?
merlin
lol merlin
BomBom
dont be silly merlin... we hammered them in that FA Cup semi and they know it.
MikeyGamst
I smell blood in the water! lol
BomBom
Lol sorry merlin, ya prob couldn even buy our vote, that semi still is in all our minds
sasman
Well depending on how much was on offer....everyone has their price, even me lol!
