Team of the Season

With YOUR help Vital Blackburn has been trying to determine what have been the best and worst of the Blackburn Rovers 2006-2007 season.

The nominations are still be taken for other Awards, but the Vital Blackburn Awards for 2006-2007 continue to be dished out with the

Team of the Season

When asked to simply leave the name of the team you believe have been the BEST Team faced by Rovers this Season most felt…

Reading should be the Award Winner! So congratulations to Reading for being voted Vital Blackburn's Team of the Season.

Steve Coppell's Reading came into the Premiership as Championship Champions, but were still many people's tip for an instant return (not mine though!) and how wrong these "tipsters" were proven.

With a brand of fearless attacking football Reading very nearly took a place in the UEFA Cup, in fact had they beaten us on the final day instead of drawing with us 3-3 they would have made it, against their bosses wishes…

A top half, and top ten Premiership finish at that is a great achievement for a side predominately still retaining the players that got them into the Premiership to begin with, congratulations to Steve Coppell and Reading.

Hats off to Reading they showed little or no respect for reputations and had a go at teams and well deserve this accolade. They will probably find it harder next season but will still have more than enough to stay up for a third season and more. My one issue with Reading though came at the end of the season when Steve Coppell blatantly wrote off the UEFA Cup and even said he would field a reserve team if they made it, fortunately for us (as we were DESPERATE to make it!) they didn't get in anyway. Either way though congratulations to Reading.
