Rovers Unlucky Really!

Vital Blackburn's most recent poll, suggested by sasman asked, "How did you rate our season?" One that could have been better… with a bit more luck!

A MASSIVE amount, 68% in fact felt that but for a little more luck (I'd tend to agree, all biased views aside!) we could have done better, but it was just not meant to be. Granted we didn't help ourselves with countess defeats to teams that we should (with respect) NEVER have been losing to, not to mention games we lost when there is no way we deserved to.

21% felt that we rode our luck and scrapped into Europe! From the point of view that we finished in tenth place in the Premiership but STILL made the Intertoto Cup we did scrape in, but I still firmly believe that we did enough over the course of the season to have deserved this anyway. Our FA Cup efforts alone, in particular our cruel Semi Final defeat at the hands of Chelsea meant we surely deserved this…

All in all a good season, not what we had hoped for but the end result (a place in Europe at it's conclusion) was achieved.

So in summary
Best in history - 2%
One of our best - 6%
Rode our luck, scraped into Europe - 21%
Not one for the history books - 3%
One to forget, bring on next year - 0%
Unlucky, could of been better, just not to be - 68%

Not a great season, but by no means a bad one. It could, and probably should have been better. We didn't help ourselves at time but I HONESTLY think with a little more luck (with injuries and some shocking calls against us etc.) it could have been so much better.

Amazingly 6% felt it was one of our best, clearly people having a laugh here!

I voted for one of our best!!! Over the course of our Premiership history it was one of our best.. Europe, strong finish... I think people just have high expectations nowadays!!!!

Poor 1st half of the season... Manner of the exit from Europe was particularly disappointing.. After that it was a pretty good season apart from very poor scores against the bottom 4.. To be honest .. 10th isn't good enough for a shot at Europe therefor I went with Lucky scrape. Better performances against the worse teams and a run of the same players starting week-in-week-out and it could have been a great season.

I thinkwe can allow our self to have a greater expectation than a tenth place finish. I no we had more then our fair share of ijuries, but we dropped so many points against lower table teams that it really does make a difference

Your leader (lol!) has returned, rejuvenated and ready to go (although when I was able to get on t'internet I had a sneaky few minutes here and there, hence this article lol!) I can see why people have decided on all areas. I guess this poll (not all polls are) was VERY much down to public perception wasn't it. No real right or wrong answer here was there as one persons reasoning of what one thing meant can be different to anothgers can't it.

The start of the season was a shocker for injuries by anyones standards - losing Nelsen, Reid and Roberts hit our squad big time, then to lose Oojier and Savage in and around Xmas hurt us as well. With a better start next season we will not worry about scraping into Europe next season, im sure of it! Mikeygamst is rite in the fact that with all the injuries we did do well in Europe, albeit maybe we could have done a bit better, and 10th in the league and a crack at Europe again is dead on, all things taken into account
Clint
Spot on Clint, the start is what killed us, we dropped so many points plus the injuries did not help
sasman
lets hope we can stay injury free and retian players such as Gamst, McCarthy (if he stops friggin moaning) and Bentley (who is bound to recieve more attention now he is in the England squad) and we can aim next season... I have two words KOUMAS and JASON.
MikeyGamst
I have no idea what you mean HDM.. not quite sure how a loser operates... ;)
MikeyGamst
It must just be me Mikey, I've been to used to be a loser :( but no longer!
