Greatest Ever Squad: Forwards

The Greatest Ever Blackburn Rovers Squad is finished. After some re-evaluation we have got to the finalised squad.

For some time we've been trying to put together what we, the Vital Blackburn members see (on the whole) as the Greatest Ever Blackburn Rovers Squad.

We've previously suggested and voted on names, but we are now undergoing a re-valuation process which is looking at those that have been selected to ensure "they really are worthy of their place in the Greatest Ever Rovers Squad.

After finally looking at Tommy Briggs, Simon Garner, Alan Shearer & Chris Sutton, who had previously been selected, it has been decided that the final selection of the four forwards should be:

Tommy Briggs,
Simon Garner,
Alan Shearer &
Chris Sutton


So things stay as they were!

This means Tommy Briggs, Simon Garner, Alan Shearer & Chris Sutton will now be the final four from which we will eventually (not yet though!) select from when we finally do compile our Greatest Ever XI. But do remember the squad can and will still change over time at your request. Once we have a finalised our 23-man squad and have then selected a Greatest XI I will reveal how the "appeals" process for change will happen.

So we have a final 23-man squad! Selection for the Greatest XI will start soon.

Technically Andy McEvoy matched Chris Sutton with his mentions but as Sutton was already in the squad a judgement call (which went against my view, I wanted McEvoy in!) saw Sutton retain his place and McEvoy missed out.

SAS the best Premiership partnership ever ! wish they had a chance for england together ... that would have been something pretty good IMO

I wouldn't disagree dazednconfuzed. Maybe this could have happened if Sutton had swallowed his pride and played for the England B team, but that's a discussion for another day :)
