Lawrenson's Corner!

Lawrenson's Corner!

Not for the first time this season, and almost certainly not for the last time in this and future season's Mark Lawrenson has predicted a Blackburn Rovers defeat.

The Match of the Day "expert pundit" has tipped us for defeats many times this season, this week on his Lawro's Predictions section on is no exception.

He said:

"It has been the same old story for Newcastle again this season. Yes they have had injuries but they are just not good enough defensively. Their best players are attackers and they have often got the team out of a jam.

But, with Michael Owen fit again, I'll tip them to get a win in their last home game of the season as I think Blackburn find St James' Park a difficult place to visit."

Prediction 2-0

If it wasn't for the last line in his "preview" we wouldn't have even got a mention!

Isn't it about time the BBC started having pundits that remained impartial, and didn't always favour the "fashionable clubs." I'm not for one minute suggesting that he should be predicting a Rovers win but it is time the "experts" started remembering that 20 teams make up the Premiership and not just a handful!

he's a useless mincing *******. A failed manager at Oxford and a failed coach at Newcastle. He should stick to ballet or Crufts.

I like it SirLes! Although I'm sure you'll agree with him that Newcastle will win?!?!

Irish Eyes Are Smiling

Blackburn`s game against Doncaster had already been called off. If it hadn`t, it definitely would with the Republic of Ireland`s decision to include two defenders in the final squad.

No Tippy-Tappy Performer

Bradley Dack has proven plenty of ability on the ball and has a keen eye for a goal, but the former Gillingham man has also show he's physically able and willing to get stuck in.

Modest Marksman

You'll not find many who haven't been impressed by Armstrong since he came to Blackburn. The on-loan Newcastle forwards goalscoring exploits speak for themselves.

Different Date Same Outcome

International call ups for Leutwiler, Mulgrew and Evans, along with provisional calls for Lenihan and Williams mean the trip to Doncaster has changed, the hoped outcome wouldn't.
