Sergio Peter Agrees New Deal

Blackburn Rovers winger Sergio Peter has agreed a new deal to stay with the club until 2010 at least.

The 20-year-old German under-21 International may have found first team football hard to come across this season, arguably since he burst onto the scenes with a Man of the Match showing against Queens Park Rangers, but nevertheless has tremendous potential and as such tying him down for a further three-years is great news for the clubs future, both in the short and long term.

The Academy graduate may have only made 16 first team appearance this season but has generally shown enough to back-up suggestions that he could have a very bright future. The fact that he sees this with Rovers is yet another indication to the belief the players have that this club is going places!

I really rate Sergio, without MGP (not that I want this of course!) he would be a first team regular start no question. As I say another indication that the players believe that we are going places, he'll be the first of many to commit their futures again in the coming weeks and months I'm sure!

I really rate him aswell.... he has terrific technique and has shown he play in the middle as well as on the left... great versatility and a very promising player, great stuff from Sparky and the crew...
