Blackburn Rovers striker Jason Roberts feels that David Bentley is so good that he could be "one of the greatest players of his generation!"
It is almost certain that after a fantastic season (proving anyone that doubted his ability wrong) Bentley will be crowned the Rovers Player of the Year and could very well be called up into England's next squad for the summer matches. With this in mind, when speaking to sky sports news Roberts said:
"Bents has been fantastic.
"He's a player who's got all the ability in the world and it wouldn't surprise me in a few years' time if you hear about David Bentley being spoken about as one of the great players of his generation because he's got that kind of ability."
On his own partnership with Benni McCarthy, which has yielded six goals in four games Roberts added:
"We get on really well and he's a player that's got everything and achieved so much in the game. When we play together I feel really good about that.
"We've got some really good players at this club and you've got to do your job to stay in the team but when we do play together I think we really enjoy it."
Recently this site seems to have turned into the "Vital Jason Roberts" website, but this is simply because he is in the news so much at the moment…
And here is yet more on him! His weekend double saw him not only make the Actim Index Team of the Week, but saw him voted statically the week's BEST player.
The Actim Index is calculated using a unique mathematical formula that rates each player's contribution be it goals, shots, passes, dribbles, tackles, crosses, saves, clearances, blocks, interceptions, time on the pitch or number of points gained by the team with marks deducted for red and yellow cards. Two additional calculations, which take account of player assists and goalkeeper's clean sheets, have been added for the new season to increase the amount of variables a player is now measured by.
So after the analysis of the weekend's games Roberts was voted into the Team of the Week as the Player of the Week!
