Jeffers and Shearer both…

Jeffers and Shearer both…

My love for facts, stats and trivia lead me to try something different here on Vital Blackburn. I gave you a Trivia question to try and answer.

The question asked:
"Other than both being current/former Blackburn Rovers strikers what do Francis Jeffers and Alan Shearer have in common?"

They are of course joint record holders with 13 goals scored at under-21 level for England (not pig ugly with odd shaped heads as BomBom said, how dare he LOL!)

Shearer obtained his 13 goals in only 11 matches whereas Jeffers took 16.

As a side note both also scored on their Senior England International bows! Shearer scored against France whilst with Southampton in 1992, Jeffers in his one and only England appearance against Australia in 2002 whilst with Arsenal.

Congratulations to Vital member whitey_82003 who was the first to correctly get this.

Do you have any trivia questions you would like to put to everyone? If so contact me via e-mail at this address blackburn@vitalfootball.co.uk and I'll get Vital Football Members pondering over your teaser…

There will be more visits to Wembley for Rovers and Rovers players in the future whitey so keep looking out for these facts that may come in handy at a latter date.

Championship Cost Per Goal So Far In 2016/17

The end of the Championship campaign of 2016/17 is only a month and a bit away from fans across the country but as we go in to the remaining weeks of the campaign...

Positive Signs For Bennett

Bennett was positive of Blackburn being able to see off Lancashire rivals Preston heading into this game at Ewood Park after the Norwich and Fulham results.

Minor Graham Setback

Blackburn had to do without Danny Graham against Preston following the groin problem that forced him off against Fulham last week. He could return against Brighton next week.

Hugely Frustrating

Mowbray admitted Blackburn didn't start the game well against Preston but had then been the dominant side so was 'majorly disappointed' not to record a victory.
