Tugay Set for New Rovers Deal

Tugay Set for New Rovers Deal

Much to my delight Blackburn Rovers have confirmed that Tugay is close to agreeing a new contract to stay with the club!

The official website has confirmed that a deal (thought to be for another year) is close to being agreed with the Turkish International, and should be signed shortly after the current season ends, if not before.

Rovers boss Mark Hughes said:

"I think we are very close to an agreement.

"We are delighted with Tugay, he's an exceptional talent and hopefully a deal for another year with us can be finalised in the next couple of weeks or so.

"The type of player he is, and the position that he plays, lends to longevity of career.

"He trains well on a day-to-day basis and is very fit.

"He is not one of those that thinks just because he's a little bit older than everybody else that gives him licence to drop out of sessions. In fact, if you offer that option to him he takes it as a slight.

"He's played a lot of games this season and has had an influence in most games that he has played
."

BRILLIANT! I'm absolutely delighted to hear this as I had started to worry that perhaps we would see the last of Tugay at the end of this season. Thankfully (all being well) we will have him for at least one more season, which will be invaluable both on and off the pitch! One of the GREATEST players of his type I've ever seen play full stop (Rovers shirt or not!)

The legend will sign on. I hope we sign that kid from Arsenal. With Tugay teaching him the trade, who knows how far he can go

Sounds like a good combo... The kid from Arsenal should cost 1m... he looks the business as well.

Agree totally guys, and as sasman says Fabrice Muamba looks a classy and quality player at 19, image what the legendary maestro could add to his game!

Championship Cost Per Goal So Far In 2016/17

The end of the Championship campaign of 2016/17 is only a month and a bit away from fans across the country but as we go in to the remaining weeks of the campaign...

Positive Signs For Bennett

Bennett was positive of Blackburn being able to see off Lancashire rivals Preston heading into this game at Ewood Park after the Norwich and Fulham results.

Minor Graham Setback

Blackburn had to do without Danny Graham against Preston following the groin problem that forced him off against Fulham last week. He could return against Brighton next week.

Hugely Frustrating

Mowbray admitted Blackburn didn't start the game well against Preston but had then been the dominant side so was 'majorly disappointed' not to record a victory.
