Greatest Ever Squad: Goalkeepers

The Greatest Ever Blackburn Rovers Squad is taking shape. With some re-evaluation we are getting closer to a finalised squad.

For some time we've been trying to put together what we, the Vital Blackburn members see (on the whole) as the Greatest Ever Blackburn Rovers Squad.

We've previously suggested and voted on names, but we are now undergoing a re-valuation process which is looking at those that have been selected to ensure "they really are worthy of their place in the Greatest Ever Rovers Squad.

We started with the Goalkeepers. So after looking at Tim Flowers, Brad Friedel & Bobby Mimms, who have previously been selected it has been decided that the final selection of the three goalkeepers should be:

Terry Gennoe
Tim Flowers
Brad Friedel

So Bobby Mimms comes out with Terry Gennoe coming in.

This means Terry Gennoe, Tim Flowers & Brad Friedel will now be the final three from which we will eventually (not yet though!) select from when we finally do compile our Greatest Ever XI. But do remember the squad can and will still change over time at your request. Once we have a finalised our 23-man squad and have then selected a Greatest XI I will reveal how the "appeals" process for change will happen.

Next up for re-evaluation are the left-backs click here for the article.

Sorry to see Mimms be removed but I think it is right that he was. He was NEVER the Greatest goalkeeper in our history as his 40% winning amount suggested when he was originally voted in as the best. From three we will soon selected the GREATEST!!!

bit harsh on mimmsy to take him out IMO

He was unlucky, I really did like him but just don't think he was good enough to get in.

Booby Mimms..He he he..!!The goal he let in on the Loftus Rd plastic in 1988 was just vintage Mimms.Couldnt handle the £750g fee he cost or the pressure of taking over the great Clemance"s gloves. He also couldnt handle a football...!!

Mimms made mistakes, granted some REAL bad ones but everyone does (excluding Bradders with Rovers :) rarely) including Paul Robinson. He makes up for it with his goals though, LOL.

Friedel"s SUPERB..!!His performance in the Worthy Cup Final was amazing.A game that Tottenham should of convincingly won but didnt coz of Brad Friedel"s heroics.Allways liked Flowers as well.

He certainly is. Bradders and Flowers are/were brilliant, a different class. Bradders has probably kept us in the Premiership in the past.
