Rovers Await Their Opponents

Rovers Await Their Opponents

Blackburn Rovers will tonight find out who their FA Cup Semi Final opponents will be.

Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur replay their Quarter Final meeting at White Hart Lane this evening following the thrilling 3-3 draw at Stamford Bridge, with the winner being decided tonight, be this during the regulation ninety minutes, after extra time or the dreaded penalty shoot out.

Still smarting from Saturday's defeat to West Ham United in which one route to European football via the League was hindered, the Semi Final tie potentially leaves us one match away from a possible guaranteed European spot next season regardless of the outcome, assuming the Final opponents would be Manchester United of courseā€¦

If we are all honest Tottenham would be our preferred choice but should it be Chelsea, as now seems most likely following Tottenham's inability to hold onto a 3-1 lead at Stamford Bridge, we should have nothing to fear as this would almost certainly lead to defeat. If we are lucky Paul Robinson will have his goalscoring boots on again tonight and not his fly kicking ones!

I'm very much looking forward to sitting down and watching this game, which I think will be every bit as thrilling as the first. Spurs are free scoring, Chelsea free shipping, so it has goals written all over it. As I say if we were honest we'd rather face Spurs but if Chelsea do win, and deserve to win then I'll have no qualms about facing them, they are beatable!
