Rovers Face Tough Semi-Final

The draw for the FA Cup Semi Final has been made with Blackburn Rovers paired with either Chelsea or Tottenham Hotspur.

Obviously you don't get an easy semi-final draw but after overcoming Manchester City 2-0 at Ewood Park on Sunday thanks to goals from Aaron Mokoena, his first for the club (before later being sent off for two bookings!) and Matt Derbyshire we became the first club at the time to secure a place in the last four, our reward a tie with Chelsea or Tottenham who drew 3-3 on Sunday.

The draw in full reads as follows:

Blackburn Rovers v Chelsea or Tottenham Hotspur
Watford v Middlesbrough or Manchester United


The dream Final for the FA of Chelsea and Manchester United is still possible after they were drawn apart again although Tottenham and Middlesbrough respectively will be hoping to gatecrash this party by winning their replays, although you can't help but think they've both missed their chances? Failing that we'll be hoping to do our part, Tottenham would be the preferred choice I'm sure but on a neutral ground in a one off nothing to lose match Chelsea could be beaten, we've done it before and we CAN do it again.

We are now potentially ninety minutes away from a place in the first FA Cup Final at the newly refurbished Wembley…

Can't believe Chelsea and Man United have been drawn a part, the FA must be rubbing their hands together! You'd expect both to come through their replays now, certainly Man United lets just hope oursevles and Watford can spoil the FA's big day!!!

I tell you this ScottDaYid I hope you are right as with all due respect I'm sure I'm not alone in saying we'd rather face Spurs than Chelsea but you can't help but think Spurs' chance has gone?!?! 3-1 up with less than 20 minutes to play at Stamford Bridge to "only" draw 3-3 is a kick in the teeth.

Yea for sure, we should have won, simple as that, but we have already beat them at the lane this season,(with terry, makelele etc) and we played yesterday without 7 potential 1st teamers……robbo, ekotto, king, chimbonda, jenas, malbranque, keane. Our confidence will be sky high, hopefully through to the 1/4 finals of UEFA, Watford @ home on Saturday, could push us into the top 6 with a expected win. I'm confident and so are all the fans as are the players. Sorry to go on.lol. I could write more but I guess I have to do some work.

No need to say sorry ScottDaYid it's true feeling being spoken from a true Spurs fan. It should make for a good replay I know this much, Spurs will have a go and Chelsea know you can beat them at White Hart Lane but they'll still be looking for the quadruple... You can't help feel that Chelsea have got out of jail so they'll be more confident about winning the replay though? May the best team win, from a Rovers point of view (well my point of view as I can't speak for us all) hopefully Spurs as Chelsea have already done us three times this season!!!

Do the FA really think the world of football is stupid!!! Please Please Middlesborough and Tottenham win your replays!!! It's a fix! every flamin year.... Bom bom over to you how many times have the Semi final draws been so that the 2 better teams have a chance to play each other?

It's quite shocking that the best two teams in the country (the League doesn't lie) could play out the final showpiece at the brand new Wembley isn't it. It does make you think!!! I couldn't tell you, hopefully as you say BomBom can but I'd say this has been the case A LOT in recent years!

I am a Yid through and through. Was at the game yesterday and I can tell you the half time buzz at the bar was incredible. I had my brother on the phone during trhe match from Sydney (also a yid) I was all but ready to break down into a nervous pile of jelly. I can't help feeling though that we have had our best chance at this tie even if we are playing at home for the replay. One of my close friends who, wait for it, is even more a yid than me, says nope he ain't interested in going to wembley because he doesn't think his old ticker could cope with it (a loss to manure in the final). I said fack all that tosh, without JT Chelsk leak goals like we do at the back without Ledders yesterday was our biggest chance at a propper scalp and guess what - yes we facked it up. Now don't get me wrong, I appreciate that to come away from Scumford Bridge with all those chavs having scored 3 goals and led for most of the match with a draw and a replay as a result is respectable. I think Our Man 'Hughes Da Whatever' up here is most probably right - we have had our two penniworth and now its time tyo get off the pot and let ourselves be walked all over at the lane. More misery from what we know to be a miserable club to support I am afraid to say. Having lost the game yesterday - because for all you idiots out there - to give up a lead like that is to lose the win - I just cannot see us doing it. I wanted it at the bridge - oh so badly - just cant finish a game can we? The chelski fans had it right for once when they were singing to the tune of go west - 3-1 and you facked it up 3-1 and we facked it up - Indeed! from very very disappointed boy! But in truth I think our fans were also bang on the money when we were singing about the chelsea fans (if you could call them that) who will Support Manure next year!!!!

Chelsea don't give too many seocnd chances do they, you never know what might happen we'll just have to see next week, may the best team win I guess.

Spurs are more than capable and as history tells us, the FA Cup is full of suprises, even at this stage. Whoever we get though, will be given a game and both teams will be aware of this! A ny info on the venues or does it depend on the replay winners?
