Fans Needed - Ticket Price Interview

With the costs of tickets for football matches an ever increasing subject for debate I am looking for people to help me to help someone else with possible interviews on the subject.

We at Vital Blackburn are always willing to help people out if we can and this is one such instance. I have been contacted by a Final Year Journalism student called Tim Wagg who is looking for a fan or fans to take part in interviews for him. This is what Tim had to say:

"To Whom It May Concern,

I'm writing to you as I am currently looking for people to interview as part of a Radio documentary I'm making for my final year assessment in my Journalism degree.

I have decided to make my documentary on the recent boom in football ticket prices not only because I'm another of the 'mugs' who pays hundreds on pounds each year to watch my team but also because I believe it genuinely is having a serious effect on the game and it's fans.

I've noticed a number of articles on Vital Football already, talking about Chelsea, Everton, Blackburn, Wigan and Bolton however as I'm based in Preston we have to keep it local. This is why I'm contacting you
".

Anyone who has anything to say on this matter please comment below as these comments could possibly be used whilst anyone interested in being interviewed please contact me on this email address blackburn@vitalfootball.co.uk and I will put you in touch with Tim.

Tim is based in Preston so those interested need to be within the Lancashire area; he will however travel to you for the interview. If you can help please do.

i think everyone has alot to say about the prices there just to expensive these days

The reduction in Rovers prices is already having a massive effect. I know of 3 Rovers that had stopped getting a season ticket (and would attend selected home and away matches) because of the cost. Now, all three of them are returning to season tickets. Obviously if this is compounded across the broad band of rovers fans then the number of season tickets sold will increase dramatically. but does this mean that the gates will? or will it just be more seaosn ticket holders?

The costs of tickets both for season tickets and matchday tickets has dropped massively with Rovers and this is only a good thing so attendances will rise week in week out and not just for selected matches. Clubs should reduces tickets at all grounds as the extra millions from TV income can't justify increases, freezing tickets is the minimum ALL Premiership clubs should do. Clubs that sell out regularly will not drop prices because they will feel they don't have to rightly or wrongly, this is their choice but more genuine fans are missing out because they can't afford to go.
