Rovers Need Eight Wins for Europe

Blackburn Rovers manager Mark Hughes believes that if we are to repeat last season success and earn a place in Europe via the Premiership we will need to win eight of out remaining fixtures.

Hughes said:

"We have our targets and we accept that we have lost more game than we would have liked at this point, but there remains plenty to play for.

"To reach the top six again is still possible but it will need us to put together a great run. We did it last year and we can do it again.

"That is certainly what we are aiming to do, but we cannot afford many slips along the way."

Meanwhile Hughes has also revealed that should Rovers fail to make it into Europe via the Premiership or FA Cup, which hopefully we still can by wining it, the club will enter the Intertoto Cup.

"Most clubs are looking at the competition as a decent option," said Sparky.

"They changed the format this season and it is a more attractive proposition.

"More and more clubs will see the Intertoto as a way into Europe.

I still harbour hopes of making it into Europe without the use of the Intertoto Cup as the FA Cup remains a realistic proposition, arguable more so than the League but should we need this route for European football again I'll happily take it.

Just Saying, But What If....

Blackburn will do well under the boss. However, for arguments sake, if Rovers didn't secure an instant Championship return what would happen to Mowbray?

Caddis At The Double

Caddis has now spent the past three weeks with Blackburn, joining the club in Austria last week, and Mowbray, his boss at Celtic earlier in his career, is close to making his decision.
