Rovers Star Targets Bayer Return

Blackburn Rovers winger Morten Gamst Pedersen is hoping to make his return from injury this coming Thursday in Rovers' crucial UEFA Cup tie.

The Norwegian International picked up a hip injury whilst on International duty and has missed the League game with Everton, UEFA Cup 1st leg tie with Bayer Leverkusen and the FA Cup tie with Arsenal as a result but hopes to return for the UEFA Cup 2nd leg tie with Leverkusen at Ewood Park on Thursday night, he said:

"I will finally train again today (Monday)"

"The blow on the hip against Croatia has kept me out until now.

"I will take it easy and build myself up, but the goal is to be ready for the match on Thursday."

The return of Gamst Pedersen would be a massive boost to Rovers and give us that little extra we need to overturn our 3-2 deficit and secure a place in the UEFA Cup's last sixteen; which I firmly believe we can.

I've ALWAYS maintained belief that we can overcome Leverkusen in this round, this hasn't changed but a return of Morten Match Winner will make my belief almost concrete!

MGP back - is good news - also he'll be available for Arsenal reply too!

It certainly is. If he's fit enough he HAS to play both Cup games, maybe Sparky will rest him for the Premiership match in between?

Its defintly good news that MGP is back. With thouse deadly set pieces he can produce, i think we should get through the next round

Hope he'll be back. The UEFA cup is our main target this season.... BTW- the whole Bellers issue is extremely interesting....

I say FA and UEFA Cup's the main aim and although I wasn't too sure at the weekend I firmly believe we can still go very far in both; maybe even win one if not both!?!? Having Morten Match Winner would be a MASSIVE boost but we'll progress either way I'm sure. Don't think anything will come of the Bellers thing though IsraeliRover.

I Agree HDM. Just heard Martin Oneil's willing to offer 8Mp for him. Cant see rovers paying that much even though next year Rovers will recieve much more money for avoiding relegation (all the TV rights issue).
IsraeliRover
Rovers could match that but won't! It is great news that Gamst is in line to return against Leverkusen. He will ensure their boss has an extra headache.

I would love to see the nutter with a putter back at ewood!!!!! Can't wait to see the Gamst back in action. The lack of left footedness has been evident in recent weeks... Dunn will prove to be a good player when he gets back to match fitness, but a left footer he ain't.
